• My Pick: Buccaneers Spread at +5.5 (-110) at FanDuel

Hosting the 49ers, the Buccaneers are underdogs once again despite being fifth in points per game at 28.8. 

Even without wide receiver Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, the Buccaneers have scored 26 points in Week 8 and 24 in Week 9. 

The Buccaneers covered the spread on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, and quarterback Baker Mayfield is legitimately one of the best signal-callers in the league.

Buccaneers vs. 49ers Predictions 

Heading into Week 10, the 49ers allow 22.8 points per game (16th) and are allowing just 1.25 passing touchdowns per game. 

That said, in Week 8, before the 49ers bye week, the Dallas Cowboys threw two of them. 

The 49ers are on the road against Mayfield, who’s completing 71.71% of his passes for 1,499 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions at home. 

He’s thrown for 324 yards or more in three of the last four games and has also thrown multiple touchdown passes in six straight games. 

To date, Mayfield is second in the league in passing yards (2,389) and leads the league in passing touchdowns (23). 

There’s certainly some concern for the Buccaneers, though, and it’s their defense. 

They’ve allowed three touchdown passes or more in three straight games. Against the run, running backs are rushing at 4.86 yards per clip against them. 

We might see the return of 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, but in his first game back after bilateral Achilles tendonitis, let’s temper expectations. 

Switching gears back to the 49ers, they have a solid run defense when examining yards and yards per carry, but they’ve surrendered a rushing touchdown to the position in all but three games. 

I don’t expect much from the Buccaneers' ground game, but they could get a touchdown against this defense. 

The betting lines will adjust after this week. They discounted Mayfield last week, and they’re doing it again this week.

The Buccaneers' run game hasn’t been the emphasis of their offense by any means this season, but in this game, they take on a defense that’s allowed four rushing touchdowns over the last three games. 

White has scored four times (three receiving, one rushing) over the last three weeks. 

With wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin out, White will continue to be used, especially in the passing game. 

He’ll get in the end zone.

The 49ers are quite good against opposing tight ends, but Otton is in a unique situation with Evans and Godwin out. 

Expect him to keep getting double-digit targets.
