Bills vs. Jets MNF Picks, Predictions & Player Props: Division Rivals Both Hoping to Avoid Three-Game Losing Streak

  • Both the Bills and Jets enter Monday’s game coming off back-to-back losses.

  • The Jets are giving up just 17 points per game, allowing just one 200-yard passing game through the first five weeks of the season.

  • Josh Allen is only averaging 190 passing yards per game this season after completing just nine of his 30 passes in last week’s loss.

Week 6 of the NFL season concludes with an AFC East rivalry game on Monday Night Football. The Buffalo Bills will pay a visit to the New York Jets with both teams hoping to avoid losing their third game in a row. The Bills have lost tough games to the Ravens and Texans whereas the Jets have fallen short against the Broncos and Vikings. While the Bills have won six of the last eight meetings between these teams, they have been unsuccessful in their last two road games against the Jets, giving New York hope despite being the underdog on Monday night.

Bills vs. Jets Odds

As mentioned, the Jets are home underdogs for Monday’s game. However, the spread is less than a field goal, indicating that this should be a close game that could go either way. These are the current odds for the Bills-Jets game from bet365 Sportsbook. Place your bets at bet365 and claim your bonus of choice: $1,000 Safety Net Bet OR $200 in Bonus Bets.

Bills vs Jets Predictions and Prop Bets

Bills vs Jets My Pick

It’s hard to blame the Bills too much for back-to-back road losses against two teams that are likely going to make the playoffs. Buffalo was an underdog in both games and while the Bills were blown out by the Ravens, they nearly forced overtime against the Texans. The Jets, meanwhile, have found creative ways to lose games the past two weeks. They’ve been plagued by turnovers and self-inflicted wounds to the point that the team fired head coach Robert Salah. The franchise is a mess at the moment, making it hard to envision them being able to come together and beat a quality Buffalo team, even at home.

Bills vs. Jets Predictions

As expected, there has been a lot on the shoulders of Josh Allen this season. He lacks a clear No. 1 receiver and is averaging less than 200 passing yards per game. Allen is also coming off arguably the worst game of his career, completing just nine of his 30 passes against the Texans last week. Yet, the Bills rank third in the NFL in points per game. Allen has used his legs to great effect while also protecting the football, as he’s yet to throw an interception through the first five games of the season.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo defense has done its part for large stretches of the season. The Bills weren’t stout defensively in their loss to the Ravens, but they’ve been otherwise solid for the past month. That unit is missing some key pieces to injury and lost several key players during the offseason. Despite bending at times, the Buffalo defense has been tough to break.

To be fair, the Jets have been able to rely on their defense to keep them in games this season. They are conceding just 17 points per game, which is why their last two losses have come by a total of just seven points. Even though they have rarely played with a lead, the Jets have amassed an impressive 18 sacks through five games and held four of the five quarterbacks they’ve faced under 200 passing yards.

The problem for the Jets - surprisingly - has been Aaron Rodgers. After missing virtually all of last season, the 40-year-old is yet to settle in with his new team. He’s completed less than 60% of his passes in back-to-back games while throwing three costly interceptions in last week’s loss to the Vikings. It certainly doesn’t help that the Jets have the fewest rushing yards in the NFL and are gaining a modest 3.6 yards per carry, putting even more pressure on Rodgers to carry the offense.

Bills vs. Jets Best Player Props

Josh Allen Under 207.5 Passing Yards (-110 at bet365 Sportsbook)

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Allen during Buffalo’s back-to-back losses. He’s now been held to 180 passing yards or less in three of his last four games. Facing the Jets will be another stiff challenge for him, especially as the Bills continue to sort out their situation at wide receiver. Not only have the Jets held four of the five quarterbacks they’ve faced below 200 yards, but they’ve held two of them below 100 passing yards. In what figures to be a low-scoring affair, look for Allen to fall short of 200 passing yards yet again.

Breece Hall Under 53.5 Rushing Yards (-110 at bet365 Sportsbook)

The hype train for Hall was moving fast before the season. But he’s struggled to get going, averaging less than 40 yards per game and just three yards per carry. Meanwhile, his backup Braelon Allen has started to take touches away from him. Hall has had 10 carries or less in back-to-back games. The Jets are likely to keep giving Allen more opportunities, making it harder for Hall to get to 54 rushing yards in this game.

Aaron Rodgers Over 0.5 Interceptions (-125 at bet365 Sportsbook)

After throwing three interceptions last week, the smart money is that Rodgers will throw another pick this week. The Jets continue to have a terrible rushing attack, putting all of the pressure on him. While he’s been great throughout his career at taking care of the football, he might have to take a few more risks, leaving himself vulnerable to turnovers. Plus, his ball placement has been lacking at times. Meanwhile, the Bills have collected five interceptions in five games, so they’re more than capable of taking advantage of Rodgers if he’s not at his best.
