The Buffalo Bills will head south to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in the most anticipated game of the holiday weekend. The Bills (6-5) come into the game after picking up a much-needed win in Week 11, but they will be up against an Eagles (9-1) team that owns the best record in the league.
This thrilling matchup brings excellent opportunities to win money on prop bets. Below, we will share three of our favorites to help you bet confidently on the Bills vs Eagles.
While this bet does not include passing touchdowns, Jalen Hurts’s rushing abilities make this an easy bet to make. The Eagles use him as a primary rusher in the red zone, and he has nine touchdowns on the ground this season. He has three rushing touchdowns in his previous two games against great Kansas City and Dallas offenses.
As good as the Buffalo defense has played, they aren’t on the same level as the Chiefs and the Cowboys. They rank sixteenth in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (110.5). They haven’t faced a quarterback that can run as well as Hurts, and we think it leads to him scoring at least one rushing touchdown today.
Josh Allen has not looked at himself for much over the last month, but he snapped back into top form on Sunday against a great Jets defense. He threw for three touchdowns and could have had more if the score had not gotten out of hand so quickly. It was a badly needed showing for both Allen and the Bills, and it will give them momentum coming into this matchup.
While the Eagles lead the NFL in run defense (76.5 YDS/G), they are twenty-eighth against the pass (247.8 YDS/G). Philly has given up the league's third most passing touchdowns (21) as teams opt to avoid their elite front seven to attack a weak secondary. While they have had a handful of impressive moments against good quarterbacks this season, they will not be able to do so against a surging Josh Allen today.
While betting against the Philly run defense is usually a losing proposition, there are two reasons why this bet will hit today. The first is how well James Cook has run the ball this season. He is averaging 5.0 yards per carry and had no problem finding room against the Jets last week. The young back also gutted a quickly improving Denver defense for 109 yards on 12 carries the week before. Philly is better against the run than anyone in the league, but Cook’s success against the Jets and Broncos shows he will be up to the task today.
We discussed above how good the Eagles’ run defense is, but they are coming off a tough week against the Chiefs. They allowed Isiah Pacheco to average 4.7 yards per carry for 89 yards. However, some of that can be attributed to Philly’s focus on bolstering their pass defense. They chose to focus on Mahomes instead and ended up shutting him down. They will need to attempt a similar strategy against Josh Allen, which will give Cook room to run.
