Bills vs. Broncos Picks, Predictions & Player Props: Can Bo Nix Pull Off the Upset

Published January 11, 2025

  • Buffalo enters the playoffs as the two-seed in the AFC

  • The Bills have never won the Super Bowl

  • This is the Broncos first playoff appearance since 2015

The Denver Broncos will travel to Buffalo to face the Bills in the AFC Wild Card round. This will be Denver's first postseason appearance since the 2015 season, and they have an underrated squad heading into the weekend.

The media and sportsbooks have written off the Broncos as a significant underdog. However, their quarterback, Bo Nix, isn’t playing like a rookie, and they have an elite defense.

Denver is ready for the opportunity, but as an 8.5-point underdog, they have a tall task to beat the Bills in Buffalo. We have targeted a spread and three props on FanDuel Sportsbook for this game.

New customers on FanDuel Sportsbook can get $200 in bonus bets instantly if their first $5 wager wins on the app. This is a great way to rack up some bonuses for the playoffs.

Bills vs. Broncos My Pick

The Denver Broncos clinched their NFL playoff spot in the season's final week with a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs didn’t play starters, it was still a meaningful win.

The Broncos should have plenty of momentum coming into Sunday’s game, but it will be hard to keep up with the Bills to pull off an upset.

Nevertheless, the spread is massive at 8.5 points, and we’re going with the underdogs. Buffalo's weather will not be great, but the Broncos are used to the cold.

If the Broncos’ defense can contain Allen and hold the Bills to field goals, they have a strong chance of covering the spread.

Bills vs. Broncos Predictions

Cold Hard Football Facts is an excellent resource for betting on the NFL. Their proprietary statistics rank teams based on their performance throughout the season.

Compared to Denver, who is ranked sixth, Cold Hard has Buffalo ranked as the fifth-best team according to the Quality Stats Power Rankings.

This should be a tight game based on the key numbers, but experience will play a massive role. Nix is a great quarterback and has a bright future in the NFL.

Nix and Jayden Daniels led their teams to playoffs in their first NFL season. This is a remarkable accomplishment, but they must go through the MVP.

We believe the Broncos will keep the game close, but Allen should take this game over from the start. Allen threw for 28 touchdowns and rushed for 12 additional scores.

Allen has been good in the playoffs against teams not named the Chiefs. The Broncos defense will make life challenging in the red zone, but Allen should work the ball up and down the field.

Allen’s rushing ability will make a difference in the game. The combination of Allen’s legs and James Cook will wear down Denver by the end of the game to give their team a close win.

Bills vs. Broncos Best Player Props

Josh Allen Anytime Touchdown (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Allen helped the Bills cruise through their AFC East schedule. He is a running back who can throw the ball at an elite level, which makes him tough to defend.

Allen’s 12 rushing touchdowns came in multiple ways this season. He could scramble and find success but also dominate on designed runs.

Even though the odds are slightly juiced at -125, we’re taking Allen to find the end zone.

Bo Nix Over 223.5 Passing Yards (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

We have the Broncos covering; for this to happen, they must score points. The Broncos run game hasn’t been as consistent as their passing offense.

Nix has been phenomenal this season, throwing the ball down the field. Nix has thrown for 3,775 yards with 29 touchdowns this season.

Denver should try to establish the run early, but they must throw often to keep up with the Bills.

Will Lutz Over 6.5 Kicking Points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Will Lutz has been an average kicker this season. He hit 91.2% of his field goals, which is 13th in the NFL, and he didn’t miss an extra point.

He is sharp from close range, and the Broncos should have success getting him in positions to be successful. If Denver stalls in the red zone, Lutz should easily exceed 6.5 points.
