Week 0 changed our opinion on the college football landscape. Florida State was expected to be a serious contender in the College Football Playoff, but Georgia Tech dominated them in Ireland.

More pretenders will be exposed in Week 1. One of the best ways to bet on college football is in the player prop markets.

We believe a few players will shine on Saturday, and we’re placing these bets on bet365 Sportsbook. As a special offer, bet365 gives new users a $1,000 safety net bet or $150 in bonus bets. This exclusive deal is available by following our custom bet365 link and using promo code WSN365.

Best NCAAF Prop Bets Week 1

Garrett Greene Under 175.5 Passing Yards (-115) at bet365

West Virginia is being extremely underlooked heading into the 2024 season. The team went 8-4 last season and won the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against North Carolina. A massive reason for the team’s success was their quarterback, Garrett Greene.

Greene is one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the country. He threw for 2,406 yards with 16 touchdowns and just four interceptions in 2023. He was also 20th in the nation in QBR at 75.8.

The knock on Greene is that he is just 5’11” and 201 pounds. West Virginia’s coaching staff plays to his strengths by not letting him sit in the pocket.

Greene consistently moves with the football and gets outside the pocket, which gives him a better chance to see downfield and run. Greene is a dangerous running quarterback who proved this last year against Penn State.

Greene rushed for 71 yards on 15 carries against the Nittany Lions. Despite this, he threw for just 162 yards, going well under his 175.5-yard total on Saturday.

Greene has experience against the Nittany Lions, but Penn State is on a different level on defense. This should be a tight matchup, and we recommend taking the points with the Mountaineers.

Nevertheless, West Virginia won’t win if Greene exceeds his passing total. Penn State’s secondary and pass rush is so good, so if Greene is throwing consistently, the Mountaineers will be down in the game. The quarterback won’t pick the Nittany Lions apart if he gets put in these situations.

Riley Leonard Under 194.5 Passing Yards (-115) at bet365

DJ Uiagalelei had trouble adjusting to his new offense with Florida State last week. The quarterback consistently rushed his footwork, which didn’t open his team up for success against Georgia Tech.

Riley Leonard is a Duke transfer entering a similar situation for Notre Dame. His Notre Dame career couldn’t have a tougher start on the road against Texas A&M College Station, which is home to the 12th man for a reason. The crowd will be actively involved in this game.

Leonard didn’t exceed this line in his final three starts of the season for Duke. He also threw one touchdown to three interceptions in these games against ranked opponents.

Leonard hasn’t been in the big game spotlight much over his career, so we can’t back him in what could be the toughest matchup of his career.

Texas A&M had the second-best passing defense in the SEC Conference last season. They allowed just 188 yards per game in 2024. Additionally, Notre Dame wants to lean on the run game, which should automatically decrease Leonard’s passing yards.

Take the under for Leonard and back the Aggies in College Station.

Carson Beck Over 259.5 Passing Yards (-115) at bet365

Carson Beck and the Georgia Bulldogs are expected to win the National Championship. If Georgia does precisely what they’re expected to, Beck will be a massive piece to the championship puzzle.

The senior quarterback could be one of the top selections in the NFL Draft, and he has all the arm strength in the world. Beck and the Bulldogs are hosting the 14th-ranked team in the country in Clemson, but they’re still a two-touchdown favorite.

Beck threw for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 2023. He was fifth in the nation in QBR at 86. In his last game against Florida State, he averaged 11.3 yards per contest.

Beck’s passing yards total is listed at 259.5 yards on Saturday. Clemson had the top passing defense in the ACC Conference last year, allowing just 162.2 yards per game. However, Georgia’s team is stacked on offense and should overpower the Tigers.
