The College Football Playoff has reached the final stage. Notre Dame will face Ohio State in the National Championship Game, concluding the CFP bracket.

Riley Leonard has been an excellent leader for the Fighting Irish this season. Although he hasn’t been a fantastic pocket passer, he has made the necessary plays to win in high-leverage moments. 

Leonard was critical in the comeback against Penn State in the Orange Bowl. He is one win away from etching his name in the record books. 

Leonard has struggled to throw the ball all season. He threw for 2,606 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions against lackluster defenses. 

The past three playoff games revealed how little Leonard relies on his arm to win games. The quarterback threw for 223 yards last week, but 54 came on a single play thanks to a Penn State defender tripping. 

Leonard has relied on his legs all season, and Notre Dame has been fantastic in getting him involved in the run game. His usual anytime touchdown odds aren’t plus money, but this isn’t the case against an elite Ohio State defense.

Chip Kelly and Ohio State had an identity problem earlier in the season. They were trying to be more physical than their opponents, restricting their offense. 

The Buckeyes have one of the country's best rosters and tons of skill talent throughout the team. They have thrived throwing the ball, and Will Howard has been a massive reason for the success. 

Howard has been fantastic at making decisions in the playoffs. Howard has thrown over 300 yards in two of his past three playoff games. 

He is coming off a 24-33 performance for 289 yards with one touchdown and interception. He didn’t look great against Texas but quickly went over 245.5 passing yards. 

Texas has a defense on the same level as Notre Dame. If Howard succeeded against the Longhorns, he should also pad stats against Marcus Freeman’s team. 

Ohio State has too many weapons in the passing game, like Jeremiah Smith, Emeka Egbuka, and Carnell Tate. Notre Dame may eliminate one player, but someone is also open for the Buckeyes. 

Jeremiyah Love Over 41.5 Rushing Yards (-114) at FanDuel

One way Notre Dame stays alive in the National Championship Game is by running the ball. We took Leonard to score a touchdown, but another big player for their run game is Jeremiyah Love. 

Love had 159 carries for 1,122 yards with 17 touchdowns this season. Even though Ohio State has a tremendous rushing defense, Love can match their physicality. 

The running back's total is 41.5 yards, which is very low. Based on the game script, Notre Dame will likely play from behind, and Ohio State has a great front seven. 

Love has gone over this line in two of three playoff games. He also has exceeded this line in four of his past five games.
