  • Iowa State battles Arizona State for the Big 12 Championship

  • Arizona State has won five straight games

  • Texas looks to get revenge on Georgia in the SEC championship

The College Football Playoff will be decided this week following conference championship weekend.

Iowa State takes on an Arizona State team that has looked unbeatable over the last few weeks. The Sun Devils, previously in the Pac-12, are looking to capture the Big 12 Championship in their first year in the conference.

In the SEC, Texas is seeking revenge against Georgia after being defeated by 15 points in late October. Both teams have been inconsistent sometimes, but they can each right their wrongs on Saturday.

Iowa State vs. Arizona State on FanDuel

  • Date: Saturday, December 7th

  • Time: 12:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Iowa State (+105) | Arizona State (-125)

  • Spread: Iowa State +2 (-108) | Arizona State -2 (-112)

  • Total: Over 51 (-108) | Under 51 (-112)

Pick: Arizona State Moneyline (-125) at FanDuel

Iowa State finished the regular season at 10-2, going 6-1 at home in 2024. The Cyclones suffered losses to Cincinnati and Texas Tech.

Arizona State is playing its best football right now, as it’s on a five-game win streak. The Sun Devils finished the regular season at 10-2 with big-time wins over Kansas State and BYU.

This matchup can’t be more even between these two teams, and the spread indicates this fact. The key to this game will be how well the Cyclones defend Cam Skattebo, one of the country's best running backs.

Skattebo has 1,398 yards on the ground and 17 touchdowns. Jordyn Tyson, who has 75 receptions for 1,101 yards, will also make a huge impact at receiver.

Ultimately, we think this game will be a track meet, as we expect a ton of points scored. The Sun Devils present a more balanced offense, and we expect them to play with a chip on their shoulder, as this is their first year in the Big 12.

Arizona State is 15th in the country in third-down percentage, and the Cyclones don’t have a ton of sacks to show for in 2024. This game will be won in the trenches, and we trust Arizona State in this spot, as they have been on a roll.

Georgia vs. Texas Odds on FanDuel

  • Date: Saturday, December 7th

  • Time: 4:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Georgia (+114) | Texas (-135)

  • Spread: Georgia +2.5 (-105) | Texas -2.5 (-115)

  • Total: Over 49 (-110) | Under 49 (-110)

Pick: Texas Moneyline (-135) at FanDuel

We couldn’t ask for a better matchup between the Longhorns and Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game. Both teams didn’t play their best when they met on October 19th.

The Bulldogs survived a scare in last week’s contest against Georgia Tech, needing eight overtime periods to emerge victorious. Carson Beck has been turning up his level of play, though, as the quarterback has recorded 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in his past three games.

Yet, we believe the Longhorns will take advantage of this and put the pressure on Beck and the Bulldogs early. Texas fumbled the ball three times in the last matchup, and we don’t think this will happen again.

Both teams will probably qualify for the College Football Playoff with a loss, but Texas feels more comfortable qualifying with a loss than Georgia.

The Longhorns' front four is outstanding and they will make the difference. They pressured Beck in the last matchup causing three interceptions. We think they will have a similar gameplan in this mathcup forcing Beck to make bad decisions.

Look for Texas to get off to a fast start and coast to victory on its way to the SEC championship.
