In what was a turn of events from their Game 4 performance, Warriors star Stephen Curry struggled. Instead of faltering to the Celtics, Golden State’s role players stepped up to carry the load for their star. The productivity of the Warriors’ role players will determine their chances at victory.
In a switch from their Game 4 victory, Stephen Curry shot just 7 of 22 from the field and 0 of 9 from three-point range. To compensate, the trio of Wiggins, Thompson, and Green shot 22 of 33 from the field for 55 points. Even Payton II and Poole came off the bench to contribute 29 points on 10 of 16 shooting.
Considering the efficiency and speed of their offence, the Warriors look to be in great position to beat the Celtics. If they can get Curry scoring early, and their role players maintain their performance, the Warriors can earn their seventh NBA Championship!

There was some concern for the Golden State Warriors when Stephen Curry was unable to find his rhythm early in the game. However Canadian international and former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins stepped up to set the Warriors up for victory.
Wiggins continues to struggle to shoot the ball from range, but he’s the only Warriors player who has been taking advantage of players at the rim. The Warriors guard posted 26 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in 42 minutes of play.
If the Warriors can get Wiggins’ offence going early again, the Warriors will have the firepower they need to compete with Boston. If he can even make a couple of threes to keep the Celtics defence honest, Golden State would be well on their way to another NBA title.
The Boston Celtics have no choice but to win if they hope to keep their NBA title hopes alive. Their offence has had its fair share of bright points, but their inability to take care of the ball has hindered their success. To beat the Warriors, the Celtics need to improve their ball security.
Usually operating an efficient offence, the Celtics have averaged 15 turnovers per game through their 5 games against the Warriors. In their Game 5 loss to the Warriors, the Celtics combined to commit 18 turnovers.
Boston struggles when they are limited to one-on-one play. Key playmakers Brown, Smart, and Tatum combined for 13 of the team’s 18 turnovers. If they hope to take down the Warriors, they need to be efficient with their possessions.

The Boston Celtics have found much of their success when they get off to a strong start. Their leader to open games has usually been Jaylen Brown, but in a crucial Game 5 he struggled. For the Celtics to level the series, Brown needs to be productive.
In the Celtics’ Game 5 loss to the Golden State Warriors, Brown posted 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in 44 minutes of play. He struggled to be efficient though, shooting just 5 of 18 from the field, 0 of 5 from three, and committing 5 turnovers. He was a team-low minus-19.
Brown needs to be engaged if the Celtics hope to beat the Warriors in Game 6. He managed just 4 points on 2 of 10 shooting in Game 5, something that needs to be improved for Boston to stay in the running for an NBA title.
