It’s always an exciting matchup when two of the best point guards in the NBA, Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard, lead their teams against each other. The Warriors’ excellent ball movement should earn them a win over Portland’s shaky defence.

The sample size is small, but the Trail Blazers need to draw everything they can from Golden State’s only two losses on the season to find a path to victory.
In losses, the Warriors shot just 38.5% from the field. Their discipline showed through though, as the Warriors assisted on an average of 30 of their 38.5 made field goals in losses.
Portland have the offensive firepower to challenge the Warriors, but they are weak defensively. Focusing on limiting the break and forcing one-on-one play will be Portland’s best chance at victory.

The Portland Trail Blazers are coming off of a disappointing victory against the Sacramento Kings. Despite a big game from Lillard, the Trail Blazers didn’t have enough to stave off the Western Conference bottom-feeders.
Lillard is coming off of a night where he posted 32 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds in 40 minutes of play. While he wasn’t very efficient from the field, he was 15 of 16 from the free throw line.
Portland’s issues stem from the defensive end and at the point of attack. If Lillard is unwilling to buckle down at the point of attack, he’ll never score enough to make up the difference.
The Golden State Warriors are excellent on both ends of the court. When they face the Trail Blazers, they need to take advantage of Portland’s one-way play.
In Portland’s recent loss to the Sacramento Kings they were solid on offence, but allowed their opponent to shoot 52.3% from the field. It wasn’t the three-point line that created issues, but Portland’s inability to keep pace with the Kings.
Golden State are no strangers to playing with pace, so getting all players involved early could spell an early night for Portland.

The Golden State Warriors seem like the perfectly trained basketball team. They act as a unit on both ends of the ball, with Juan Toscano-Anderson being a perfect representative of their philosophy.
Toscano-Anderson is an understated player, but he does everything with great effort and efficiency. He is coming off of a game where he posted 13 points on 6 of 6 shooting from the field, all while collecting 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal.
He’ll never be a top scorer, but Toscano-Anderson is more than willing to buy into Kerr’s gameplan completely. As the Trail Blazers’ eyes will be on the likes of Curry, Green, and Poole, Toscano-Anderson and the Warriors supporting cast will be crucial to keeping the offence going.
