The Oklahoma City Thunder (12-4) will meet the Sacramento Kings (8-9) in an NBA matchup between two Western Conference foes.
The Thunder recently lost sole control of first place in the West following back-to-back losses. They got back in the win column with a 109-99 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers last Wednesday and had an extremely rare five days of rest between games.
The Kings have also not been in the best run of form and dropped their last three games. They struggled with injuries but have still shown signs of being a competitive team with playoff potential.
Here, we will review the betting odds and share our best bets for the Thunder vs. Kings showdown on Monday.
The Thunder are 9-7 (56.3) percent against the spread, 8-7 (53.3 percent) ATS as a favorite, and 4-2 (66.7 percent) ATS on the road.
The Kings are 6-10-1 (37.5 percent) ATS, 2-3 (40 percent) ATS as an underdog, and 2-6-1 (25 percent ATS) at home.

The Thunder earned the first seed in the Western Conference last year but only made it to the second round of the playoffs, where they were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in six games. They’re looking to build on the impressive steps they took last season with a reworked and improved roster that is still rife with youthful talent.
OKC is nothing short of the best defensive team in all of basketball. Their defensive rating (102.9) is significantly better than last year’s league leaders, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and a full point better than the second-place Orlando Magic.
The offense has been a different story. The team only ranks 11th in points per 100 possessions, largely because their three-point shooting regressed to 19th in the league (34.4 percent).
Don’t let the decline in offensive production distort reality. OKC creates tons of quality shot opportunities with its drive-and-kick style, whether that be shots at the rim or kick-outs to open shooters.
The Thunder’s biggest and only serious issue is on the glass, where they rank dead last in rebound percentage. They were terrible at full strength and have been even worse since Chet Holmgren was lost to an injury.
On the bright side, new addition Isaiah Hartenstein made his team debut in the win against the Blazers, going for 13 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks. He did not start the game but was quickly worked into the rotation and will likely play a similarly important role moving forward.

The word that distinguishes this version of the Kings team from past iterations is multiplicity. Whereas they were totally stuck in their ways using De’Aaron Fox as a driver and Domantas
Sabonis as a high-post hub, their evolution as a team combined with the signing of DeMar DeRozan has allowed them to take on new looks in the offense.
Sacramento has the sixth-best offensive rating in the league, just ahead of last year’s league runner-up, the Dallas Mavericks. But as has been the case in recent seasons, defense has been an issue.
The Kings are 15th in defensive rating and 26th in three-point percentage allowed (37.7), which mirrors their own three-point shooting (26th - 33.2 percent).
The combination of Fox, Sabonis, DeRozan, and Keegan Murray logged the sixth-most minutes of any four-man lineup in the league. They posted a +12.9 net rating during their time on the court together, which is better than every lineup with more minutes.
An area of potential improvement could come from an increase in ball movement. The Kings are 27th in the percentage of scoring possessions that end an assist during overall games and 28th during clutch possessions.
Given the shooting struggles of Keegan Murray (29.9 percent from three) and Kevin Huerter (29 percent), it’s reasonable to suggest that quicker and more frequent passing could lead to better rhythm shots.

Thunder vs. Kings pick: Thunder -4.5 (-110) at BetMGM
The Thunder’s five-day rest period is a significant advantage, especially against a Kings team that just lost to the Brooklyn Nets last night.
While the Kings have generated solid offense overall, they frequently lose the ball from beyond the arc and aren’t as competitive in the second unit due to Malik Monk being injured. Meanwhile, OKC just got Hartenstein back and does not have a shortage of willing contributors in the reserves.
The Kings can become a very strong team, but this is a bad spot for them.
