Phoenix Suns vs. Boston Celtics Betting Pick

The Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns will headline the NBA’s Friday night schedule. The high-scoring Celtics are in an excellent run of form, while the Suns have struggled to reach the Play-In Tournament. The Suns lost to the Celtics by 30 earlier in the season, and while such a margin is unlikely, they’re a weaker squad in worse form since that meeting. Devin Booker will take the lead for the Suns, but as the season comes to a close, their lack of defensive quality and scoring depth places them far from Boston’s competitive level.

Phoenix Suns Preview

The Phoenix Suns are desperately fighting for a spot in the Play-In Tournament, but their four-game losing streak suggests they might fall short. They face a significant task on Friday night when they face the Boston Celtics, one of the league’s top-performing teams this season.

The Suns have been unable to overcome Durant's absence, allowing 134.3 points per game while allowing their opponents to shoot 56.9% from the field and 50.3% from three on 19.0 threes per contest. Their offense hasn’t been much better over that stretch, scoring 110.8 points while shooting 47.2% from the field and 38.1% from deep.

The Phoenix Suns have struggled this season, posting a 29-46-1 ATS Record through 76 games, ranking them 29th in the league. They’ve posted a 38.7% cover percentage, a -2.2 margin of victory, and a -3.3 ATS +/- this season.

Devin Booker is in the spotlight when the Suns face the Celtics on Friday night, averaging 25.5 points, 7.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 threes per game on 45.6% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range. In his previous match, a loss to the Bucks, Booker put up 39 points, 11 assists, and three made threes on 43.8% shooting.

Boston Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics are coming off a loss, but they’ve won nine of their last ten games ahead of their Friday night matchup with the Suns. The Suns are shorthanded, and after a blowout defeat in their last matchup, expect the Celtics to

The Celtics are closing the season strong, on a 9-1 run with eight road games over that stretch. Their offense remains one of the most threatening in the NBA, putting up 115.8 points over their last ten games with 17.9 made threes on 47.0% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range.

Through 76 regular season games, the Boston Celtics have posted a 35-40-1 ATS Record, ranking them 22nd in the NBA. They have a 46.7% cover percentage, a +8.8 margin of victory, and a -0.6 ATS +/- this season.

Celtics starman Jayson Tatum will take the stage on Friday night with Jaylen Brown, who is questionable for this matchup. He’s averaging 27.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 3.5 threes per game on 45.2% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range. He struggled in his last game, losing to the Celtics, producing 16 points, seven assists, and two made threes on 23.5% shooting.
