The Minnesota Timberwolves have impressed through the early phases of the season. Their offense has been efficient, scoring 112.8 points per game (16th) on 49.0% from the field (3rd) and 36.9% from three (9th). However, it’s been their defense that has made the most significant impact on their success, as they hold teams to 103.1 points per game (1st) on 41.8% shooting from the field (1st) and 31.3% from three-point range (1st). Their versatile defense has given every team issues they’ve faced.
As they usually are, the Golden State Warriors are pace-driven and willing to shoot the three while sprinkling in a veteran-led defense. They scored 114.0 points per game (11th) on 44.8% shooting (26th) while hitting 13.6 threes (6th) on 34.9% efficiency (20th). They continue to pass the ball well, 27.0 assists per game (8th), and their defense has improved from last season as they hold teams to 45.7% from the field (12th) and 33.4% from three (9th).
Through 11 games, the Golden State Warriors own a plus-2.6 points differential. Despite the Warriors losing their last match to the Timberwolves, they’re a team that’s unlikely to make the same mistakes twice. Count on a Warriors victory to reestablish themselves in the Western Conference standings.

Anthony Edwards has been on a tear this season, showing off his potential as one of the NBA’s biggest stars. The Timberwolves’ first option on offense, Edwards, is averaging 28.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game on 48.7% from the field and 36.1% from three-point range.
With the most diverse offensive package on the Timberwolves roster, Edwards has been versatile in his production. Known for his scoring prowess, Edwards has shown off his playmaking by dishing six or more assists in six of his nine appearances this season. In Minnesota’s Sunday match against the Warriors, he posted 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists on 40.7% from the field and 11.1% from three.
His auxiliary production beyond scoring has been promising for Edwards and will help his chances of clearing 5.5 assists on Tuesday night. Even shooting below average, Edwards was a plus-15 against the Warriors last time. Expect similar production when he takes on the Warriors again, as his versatility almost ensures excellent numbers - particularly in the assist column.

Karl-Anthony Towns is having his worst scoring season since his rookie campaign. With Anthony Edwards taking the reins, Towns has taken a step back. That’s just by his standards, though. Towns is averaging a solid 19.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.9 threes per game on 45.1% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.
Despite his overall drop in production, Town has hit two or more three-pointers in five of his nine games. He hit two threes in his last game against the Warriors on just three attempts. Clearing the way for Edwards’ rim attacks, Towns will have plenty of opportunities from deep regardless of the lineup.
