The NBA tips off its week with an exciting five-game schedule on Monday night! Our attention is on one of the biggest matchups of the night, the clash between LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers and Joel Embiid’s Philadelphia 76ers.
The Los Angeles Lakers (10-7) are on a decent run of form and aim to maintain their winning ways as they continue their four-game road trip. On the other end of the court will be the Philadelphia 76ers (11-5), who have cooled off since their early-season run but maintain their place among the East’s elite.
It’ll be the first of two games between these teams this season and LeBron James’ only trip to the city of brotherly love–the perfect opportunity to build a winning same game parlay! The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers face off in one of the most exciting matchups of the night. The Sixers have been solid on their home court, posting a 6-3 record. The Lakers won the first game of their road trip but have gone 3-5 as the visiting team overall.
The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the NBA’s more respectable interior defenses, allowing 52.3% efficiency inside the arc (11th) and 45.4% from the field overall (6th). They are fifth in the NBA in blocks per game (6.1) while committing the fewest fouls per game (17.5). The questions surrounding their play will be whether or not they can keep up on the offensive side of the ball.
The Philadelphia 76ers will challenge the Lakers on the offensive side of the ball with two of the league’s best scorers, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers are averaging 119.4 points per game (5th) while converting 24.4 free throws per contest (1st). Despite being one of the best interior scoring teams, it’s by nature of volume as they’re in the bottom third of two-point field goal percentage (53.1%).
The Lakers have listed Rui Hachimura (Nose), Cam Reddish (Adductor), Jarred Vanderbilt (Heel), and Gabe Vincent (Knee) as out. The Sixers will be without Kell Oubre Jr. (Rib) when they host the Lakers.

Anthony Davis is the key man for the Los Angeles Lakers when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night. The Lakers’ top option on the defensive side of the ball, Davis’ contributions on the offensive end of the court are crucial to the Lakers’ success.
On the season, Davis is averaging 22.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 54.9% from the field and 30.0% from beyond the arc. He’s been modest with his three-point attempts this season, but he’s been able to get to the free-throw line to supplement his scoring.
Davis has scored 25 points or more in nine of his 16 games this season. He faces one of the league's better defensive teams, the Philadelphia 76ers, and will have his battles with Joel Embiid. Davis is in great form for this matchup, scoring 25 or more in three of his last five games.

Usually considered the weak link of the Philadelphia 76ers team, Tobias Harris has had one of his best seasons in recent years. Through 16 games, Harris is averaging 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.2 threes per game on 54.2% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range.
Harris has converted on two or more threes in six of his 16 games this season. He’s been more focused on converting at the rim and in transition. Still, Harris will have plenty of opportunity from beyond the arc against a Lakers defense that is 22nd in threes allowed per game while also needing to focus on limiting Embiid in the paint.
