The NBA’s Thursday night schedule features eight exciting matchups across some of the most competitive teams in each conference. When the action tips off, our eyes are on the final game on the schedule–the Charlotte Hornets versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Charlotte Hornets (7-21) are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and are trying to find small victories in what looks to be a lost season. The Los Angeles Lakers (16-15) are struggling to compete with the best in the West and are currently outside of guaranteed playoff position.

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets face off on Thursday night, with both teams eyeing victory given the other’s down run of form. The Lakers will host an up-tempo Hornets team that should present a high-scoring affair.
The Charlotte Hornets have posted an ATS record of 12-16-0, a 42.9% cover percentage, a -10.4 margin of victory, and a -4.0 ATS +/-. Despite their dreadful season, the Hornets have lost by 13.5 in just eight of their 28 matches. Despite a loss in their last game, the Hornets were relatively impressive to hold the Clippers to just a nine-point win.
The Hornets have listed LaMelo Ball (Ankle), Brandon Miller (Ankle), Frank Ntilikina (Leg), and Mark Williams (Back) as out. Gabe Vincent (Knee) remains unavailable for the Lakers.

Anthony Davis has provided stability for the Los Angeles Lakers following an erratic opening to the season. He has showcased productivity while assuming the team's makeshift center role.
Davis maintains an average of 24.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, shooting 54.7% from the field and 40.7% from three. Notably, in his recent five-game performance, he scored 29.6 points, shooting impressively at 55.8% from the field and an outstanding 55.6% from beyond the arc.
In 10 out of his 29 appearances this season, Davis has surpassed the 28.5 points mark. Despite his recent impressive form, achieving this feat in three of the last five games, the Hornets possess big, athletic men uniquely capable of restraining Davis. While he will likely contribute significantly to a victorious effort, we anticipate that he may fall short of exceeding 28.5 points against the resilient Hornets.

LeBron James continues to impress despite being the oldest player in the NBA this season. He hasn’t missed a step, averaging 25.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists on 53.9% shooting from the field and 41.3% from three-point range.
Through 28 appearances this season, LeBron James has cleared 8.5 assists nine times. He’s been excellent lately, hitting over 8.5 assists in three of his last five games. Against an up-tempo Hornets team, James’ game should thrive.
