Houston Rockets vs Cleveland Cavaliers Preview & Predictions

The Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been perfect through the Las Vegas Summer League. With the only two undefeated teams of the tournament reaching the Final, fans, and bettors will see two of the league's top young talents face off for the Summer League Championship.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were a dark horse going into this competition, not boasting marquee talent compared to other squads. They went through the tournament with focus and deliberation, going 5-0 and scoring 97.8 points per game on a plus-11.4-point differential. They've been led by Sam Merrill, who has averaged 18.7 points with five threes per game on 48.6% from the field and 48.4% from three-point range.

The Houston Rockets have been equally impressive through the Las Vegas Summer League, even with Jabari Smith Jr. being removed from the rotation early in the tournament schedule. Even without him, the Rockets were the highest-scoring team in the Summer League, averaging 110.2 points per game on a plus-11.4 point differential. Cam Whitmore stepped up to lead Houston, averaging 20.4 points and 5.6 rebounds on 46.5% shooting efficiency through five games.

WSN's Pick

Regarding the offensive end, these two teams look equally matched. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers have the advantage in the paint due to the stellar play of Isaiah Mobley. Expect a fast-paced matchup, but Houston will struggle to contain Cleveland inside.
