Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Pick

The Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors are scheduled to put on an exciting Pacific Division matchup on Thursday night. Expect the Warriors to take the lead from the jump in this game, given their excellent run of form since the All-Star break. In ten games since the regular season restarted, the Warriors have posted a +13.0 points differential with a 9-1 record. Despite trailing the season series 1-2, the Warriors are the bettors' pick in this match. With Sabonis likely unavailable, combined with Golden State's newfound two-way quality and bench productivity, expect another notch in the win column for the Warriors.

Sacramento Kings Preview

The Sacramento Kings sit ninth in the Western Conference standings, splitting their last ten games and resting 3.5 games out of automatic playoff qualification positions. On Thursday night, they face the surging Golden State Warriors, with star big man Domantas Sabonis uncertain to play due to injury.

The offensive side of the ball isn’t the Kings’ problem, averaging 116.6 points per game (8th of 30), 26.8 assists (13th of 30), and 44.9 rebounds per contest (11th of 30). Their shooting can be suspect, though, hitting just 12.5 threes per game (24th of 30) on 35.1% efficiency (20th of 30) on top of allowing 115.2 points per contest (19th of 30) with 14.4 made threes (28th of 30) on 37.7% from deep (30th of 30). The Kings have struggled with Sabonis out, going 2-3 and averaging just 115.0 points on 47.5% shooting on a +2.0 points differential.

Through 64 regular season games, the Sacramento Kings have posted a 26-34-4 ATS Record, ranking them 28th in the NBA. They have a 43.3% cover percentage, a +1.5 margin of victory, and a -1.7 ATS +/- this season.

Zach LaVine has stood out for the Sacramento Kings in the absence of Domantas Sabonis over the last five games. Through their recent 2-3 streak, LaVine averaged 25.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 threes per game on 56.1% from the field and 50.0% from three-point range. He’s coming off his worst performance of that stretch, putting up 17 points on 50.0% shooting in a 29-point loss against the Knicks.

Golden State Warriors Preview

The Golden State Warriors are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Since the All-Star break, they’ve lost just twice, climbing to the top six of the Western Conference behind the combined leadership of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

The Warriors have been inconsistent through most of the season but have improved dramatically since acquiring Butler. Despite owning one of the NBA’s most inefficient offenses, scoring 113.6 points per game (16th of 30) and collecting 29.2 assists (3rd of 30) on 44.9% efficiency (26th of 30), the Warriors are still hitting 15.3 threes per game (4th of 30). They’ve maintained some quality on the defensive end, holding teams to 111.3 points per contest (9th of 30).

In 65 regular season games, the Golden State Warriors have posted a 33-30-2 ATS Record, ranking them 13th in the NBA. They have a 52.4% cover percentage, a +2.3 margin of victory, and a -0.3 ATS +/- this season.

Stephen Curry remains the man to watch for the Golden State Warriors, leading the way on offense and reigniting their title hopes after the acquisition of Jimmy Butler. Curry has been in classic form since the All-Star break, averaging 29.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.0 threes per game on 51.4% from the field and 43.9% from three-point range. In his previous match, a win over the Trail Blazers, Curry put up 24 points, three assists, and five made threes on 42.9% shooting.
