The Utah Jazz struggled in their last meeting against the Los Angeles Lakers. In this game, the Jazz will need to replicate the success they had in their most recent game.
Utah have continued to find success, despite a minor shake up during the NBA trade deadline. In their last game, a win over the Houston Rockets, Utah were in sync as they totalled 34 assists on 49 field goals.
As inconsistent as the Lakers’ defence can be, they have many players who can individually make game changing impact. If Utah can move the ball and overcome the Lakers’ stronger individual defenders, they can level the season series.

The Utah Jazz lost a key playmaker in Joe Ingles, but veteran point guard Mike Conley is more than qualified to fill the role. While he’s picked up his playmaking as of late, he could still improve on his offensive efficiency.
In his last game, a win over the Houston Rockets, Conley posted just 2 points, but added 10 assists, and 4 steals in just 23 minutes of play. Conley shot just 1 of 8 from the field and failed to convert on his 6 three-point field goal attempts.
The Lakers don’t present one of the most imposing defences, so Conley should be able to run the Jazz offence efficiently. If he can reward his team with some offence on top of that, Utah should come out with a win.
The Lakers take on one the league’s best offences in the Utah Jazz. If they’d like to replicate their success against the Jazz from earlier in the season, Los Angeles need to be aggressive on the perimeter.
In their last win against the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles forced their opponents to commit 15 turnovers while allowing just 37.3% shooting from the field.
The Lakers hounded the Jazz from the perimeter in their last meeting, something they’ll need to do again in this game. It will be crucial for Los Angeles’ stars – James, Westbrook, and Davis – to set the defensive tone.

Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis may not prefer playing at center full-time, but he’ll need to be on his game to take down the Utah Jazz. Davis’ offence will be just as valuable as his defence in this matchup.
Davis is coming off of a game where he posted 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks in 35 minutes of play. He was a team-low minus-6, as he shot an inefficient 5 of 13 from the field.
Against the league’s best offence, Davis must set the tone of the defensive side of the ball. While his shooting can improve, Davis will be crucial in limiting Utah’s attack at the rim.
