Spread: Los Angeles Lakers -4.5 (-112) at FanDuel Sportsbook
The Los Angeles Lakers have suffered a downturn in form lately, losing three straight games as they reach the midway point of the NBA schedule. They host a Miami Heat team that defeated them by 41 points in their last meeting, and the Lakers will be desperate to get back on the winning track as they resume their regular season schedule.
In 37 regular-season games, the Los Angeles Lakers have posted an 18-19-0 ATS Record, ranking them 19th in the NBA. They have a 48.7% cover percentage, a -2.7 margin of victory, and a -4.0 ATS +/- this season.
The Lakers suffered a problematic stretch as two games were postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfire emergencies. Thus, they have covered the spread in three of their last five games but over almost two weeks.
Anthony Davis: Points Under 26.5 (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Anthony Davis has been the Los Angeles Lakers’ most productive player this season and takes the court hoping to stop his team’s losing streak at three games. He’s a dominant interior scorer, but Davis will aim to bounce back from a poor showing in his last game against the Heat.
Throughout 35 games, Anthony Davis has averaged 25.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.1 blocks on 52.5% shooting from the field. In his last match, a loss to the Spurs, Davis posted 30 points, 13 rebounds, two made threes, two steals, and two blocks on 72.2% shooting from the field.
Davis is the Lakers’ primary scoring option but has scored under 26.5 points in 17 of his 35 appearances. He had his worst season showing in his last game against the Heat, putting up eight points, seven rebounds, and five assists on 21.4% shooting, so expect Miami to cause him problems again.
Austin Reaves: Assists Over 6.5 (-138) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Austin Reaves has been excellent for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. With the departure of D’Angelo Russell, he took on a more significant role while expanding his production. He takes on a defensively adept Miami Heat team on Wednesday night, and his playmaking will be central to their chances at success.
In 32 games this season, Reaves is averaging 18.1 points, 5.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 threes per game on 43.4% from the field and 35.9% from three-point range. In his previous match, a loss to the Spurs, Reaves put up 12 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and two made threes on just 30.8% shooting.
Reaves’ playmaking has been on point over his last ten games, and he has hit over 6.5 assists six times. He didn’t play in the Lakers’ previous game against the Heat, but he expects Reaves to create for his teammates again as his shorthanded opponents try to limit his star teammates.
Tyler Herro: Points Over 23.5 (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Tyler Herro has stepped up after Jimmy Butler’s trade demands from the Miami Heat. Taking on a more significant role in the offense, Herro has become more productive and efficient as the leading man, and they’ll need him to maintain his form to find a shorthanded victory against the Lakers.
In 38 games for the Heat this season, Herro is averaging 24.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.9 threes per game on 46.9% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range. In his last match, a loss to the Clippers, Herro put up 32 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and four made threes in just 37 minutes of play.
Herro has been excellent over his last five games, scoring over 23.5 points three times. He scored 31 in a 41-point win over the Lakers on December 4, so expect Herro to maintain his confident shooting when he takes the court on Wednesday night!
