There has never been a team that has overcome a 3-0 deficit in NBA history. However, many people believe the Celtics will be the first team to do so, as they have all the momentum in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston has won two straight games, and the Heat are in a must-win situation with the series transitioning back to South Beach. If the Heat don’t close out the series tonight, they must return to Boston for Game 7. If this occurs, the Celtics likely won’t lose Game 7 at home after winning three straight games. Let’s break down the best ways to win money on the action.

The Celtics are on the verge of making NBA history, but they must win Game 6 to have a chance to etch their name in the record books. The Celtics were down 3-0, but they’ve since won two straight games, including a win on the road. Boston has been in countless 3-2 deficits with their current roster, including the last round against the 76ers. Boston was down 3-2 and won Game 6 on the road to force and go on to win Game 7 at home. They also were down 3-2 to the Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinal last year and found a way to prevail. The Heat are in a world of trouble because they’re really not that talented of a team.
We’ve been preaching that the Celtics are superior in every facet of the game. The one thing Miami brings to the table is Jimmy Butler, but the Celtics' roster is much better than the Heat. Miami is loaded with undrafted players that have been phenomenal throughout the series. This group has played better than they are, and Boston has handed away games.
The Celtics had a 93% chance to win Game 1 in the fourth quarter before blowing a double-digit lead. In Game 2, Boston shot under 30% from the three-point line, and they only lost by six points. The Celtics were blown off the floor in Game 3, but this is to be expected on the road in the playoffs. After three games, the Celtics should have won at least one contest and evened the series in Game 4.
The Celtics' poor play has put them in a slight hole, but they’re clearly the better basketball team. Jayson Tatum has been solid, and the team started to get contributions from Jaylen Brown in Game 5, which is bad news for Miami. All the pressure is on Miami to end this series at home, but we don’t see this happening.
The Celtics have shown strength in numbers all season, and they finally displayed this in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Tatum receives all the praise for Boston as he is the best player on the team. However, Boston has one of the deepest teams in the league, and this was visible through four quarters at TD Garden on Thursday night.
Derrick White led the team in scoring with 24 points, and Al Horford had 11 rebounds for Boston. This included six offensive rebounds, which gave the team extra offensive possessions. Four of the five starters for the Celtics scored over 20 points, and Brown bounced back with a vengeance.
The shooting guard had 21 points and shot 50% from the field. This included a 3 of 5 night from behind the three-point line. Every player for Boston is playing elite basketball, and this is bad news for the Heat.
Everything Boston did to Miami in Game 5 worked, as nobody played well for the Heat. We expected Miami to regress toward the mean at some point in this series, and this happened in Game 5. The Heat still shot 39.1% from the three-point line, but it was nothing like their 50% average we’ve seen in countless games in the Eastern Conference Finals.
No player for Miami scored 20 points on the night, and Butler was a non-factor. He was efficient but quiet, scoring 14 points with five rebounds and five assists. The Celtics played a physical brand of defense, which was too much for Miami to overcome on the afternoon.
The Boston Celtics are the best team in this series, which has been the case for the first five games. The Celtics didn’t show they were the dominant force until Game 4. With Boston winning two games in a row, they have all the momentum in the world. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit, but something feels like there could be history made in this series. Take the Celtics on the money line for a very fair price, as they should force Game 7.
