Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons Betting Pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons are set to put on a hard-fought Central Division battle. The Pitons will test the Cavaliers’ interior defense with their rim attack–even without Cade Cunningham. The Cavaliers are on the second leg of a back-to-back but expect their two-way gameplan to be firing on all cylinders with Evan Mobley back in the lineup.

Cleveland Cavaliers Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers are back on track, winning their last three games and six of their last ten. They play the Pistons on the second leg of a back-to-back but should welcome some key players back into the fold.

The Cavaliers are an offensive powerhouse, scoring 122.3 points per game (2nd of 30) with 25.8 threes (2nd of 30) on 49.3% from the field (2nd of 30) and 38.5% from three (1st of 30). They’re no slouch on the defensive side, allowing teams to shoot 45.4% from the field (3rd of 30) on 52.0% from inside the arc (2nd of 30).

Over 73 regular season games, the Cleveland Cavaliers have posted a 44-28-1 ATS Record, the second-best mark in the NBA. They have a 61.1% cover percentage, a +10.4 margin of victory, and a +2.3 ATS +/- this season.

Jarrett Allen can become the forgotten man among the Cavaliers’ star-studded contributors, but he’s central to their success. He led the way in Cleveland’s Thursday win over the Spurs, putting up 29 points, 15 rebounds, and one block on 10 of 11 shooting. He’ll need to be productive if the Cavaliers hope to overcome the Pistons’ gritty frontcourt.

Detroit Pistons Preview

The Detroit Pistons are making a late push to close the regular season, climbing to fifth in the Eastern Conference standings. Despite an injury to starman Cade Cunningham, the Pistons are locked in after winning six of their last ten and will try to steal the fourth seed next!

The Pistons make their name in the effort column, holding teams to 41.9 rebounds (1st of 30) and forcing 15.2 turnovers per game (7th of 30). They love to work in the paint, averaging 115.4 points (11th of 30) on 30.1 two-point field goals (6th of 30) and 47.8% from the field (9th of 30).

Through 73 regular season games, the Detroit Pistons have a 39-31-3 ATS Record, ranking them sixth in the NBA. They have a 55.7% cover percentage, a +2.6 margin of victory, and a +3.0 ATS +/- this season.

With some key players out, the Pistons have given more opportunities to less-used players, particularly Marcus Sasser, who has thrived with his new opportunities. In his last two games, Sasser has averaged 23.5 points with 4.0 threes per game, 71.4% from the field and 72.7% from three. In a blowout win over the Spurs, Sasser led the way with 27 points, four rebounds, and five made threes.
