Game 4 could see the league’s second team book their place in the second round, as the Miami Heat have looked severely outmatched by the Cleveland Cavaliers through three games. Miami has lacked the offensive depth to keep up with Cleveland’s scorers, which has generated large deficits early. The Heat haven’t been competitive through three games this series, and a possible Garland return for Cleveland would make things even worse for Miami. Take the Cavaliers to cover the spread as they continue their dominant run.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been excellent through their first-round series against the Miami Heat. They are up 3-0 and one game from progressing to the second round. Garland’s participation is still in the air, but their two-way quality has been too much for the Heat to handle.
Game 3 was a blowout in favor of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They won by 37 points while shooting 53.5% from the field and hit 15 threes on 37.5% efficiency. Despite Garland’s absence, the Cavaliers had six double-digit scorers and outscored the Miami bench 52 to 18. Their depth will be central to their success on Monday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were one of the best teams against the spread this season, posting a 50-34-1 ATS Record through the regular season and playoffs, second-best in the NBA. They had a 59.5% cover percentage, a +10.0 margin of victory, and a +2.3 ATS +/- this season. Cleveland covered the spread in Game 3 (-5.0) and won outright (-195).
Donovan Mitchell is coming off his worst performance of the series. In three games, Mitchell is averaging 24.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 4.0 threes per game on 46.3% from the field and 44.4% from deep. In Game 3, Mitchell scored 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting, a performance he must improve on to lead Cleveland to a first-round sweep.
Regarding the Cleveland Cavaliers injury report, Darius Garland (Toe) is questionable to play in Game 4 against the Heat.

The Miami Heat are on the cusp of elimination. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo will be front and center in Game 4 on their home court. Coming off an embarrassing blowout loss to a shorthanded Cavaliers team, the Heat have one opportunity to save face or be eliminated from title contention.
Miami has struggled this series, particularly on the defensive end, where they tend to make their name. Offensively, the Heat have been solid, shooting 47.7% from the field and 40.9% from three, but they haven’t been able to keep pace with Cleveland’s offense. Miami committed 17 turnovers and allowed the Cavs to shoot 53.5% from the field, two areas they must improve for any chance at victory.
The Miami Heat struggled with consistency this season, posting a 41-45-1 ATS Record through the regular season and playoffs, ranking 19th in the NBA. They generated a 47.7% cover percentage, a +0.1 margin of victory, and a -0.2 ATS +/- this season. The Heat failed against the spread, total, and moneyline in Game 3.
Not known as an offensive force, Bam Adebayo led the scoring column for the Heat last game. He put up 22 points, nine rebounds, and four made threes on 45.0% shooting in Miami’s Game 3 loss. His offensive spark has been welcome, but after failing to collect a steal or block, Adebayo must add his All-Defense-worthy quality to try and slow the Cavs offense to avoid a first-round sweep.
Regarding the Miami Heat injury report, Kevin Love (Personal) and Terry Rozier (Ankle) are ruled out for Game 4. Dru Smith (Achilles) and Isaiah Stevens (Foot) will miss the remainder of the postseason.
