Bulls vs Raptors Pick

The Chicago Bulls field an interesting group of players that combine size and skill, but their defence hasn’t been up to standard. While it’s just been one game, the Raptors’ explosive offensive potential should win them the day.

Bulls vs Raptors Predictions

Chicago Bulls Game Notes

The Chicago Bulls showed their resolve in a comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks in their first game of the Summer League. However after a bad start to open their game against the Knicks, the Bulls weren’t able to fight their way back.

In their first loss of the Summer League campaign, the Chicago Bulls shot just 37.1% from the field and 23.1% from three-point range. They weren’t able to manufacture a solid half court offence.

If the Bulls hope to beat the Raptors, they need to find easy baskets in transition. Setting the pace and controlling it will help them on their way. But they must be careful as the Raptors are more than willing to run with them.

Bulls Key Player: (G) Dalen Terry

The Bulls dug themselves a hole to start their last game against the Knicks, but guard Dalen Terry couldn’t get his teams offence in gear.

In the Bulls’ 69-101 loss to the New York Knicks, Terry struggled. He posted 13 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 block through 27 minutes of play. He struggled to take care of the ball, committing 7 turnovers.

Terry’s athleticism can make a difference for the Bulls, but his decision-making needs to improve. He definitely has the vision to make the right passes, but he still operates best in transition versus the half court.

Toronto Raptors Game Notes

The Toronto Raptors are looking to push their Vegas Summer League record to 2-0 after their matchup with the Chicago Bulls. While the final score of their first game flattered them, the Raptors need to show consistency with their play.

In their first Summer League game, a 97-77 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Raptors alternated quarters. They won the first and fourth quarter by a 30-point margin, but their second and third quarters saw them lose 47 to 57.

The majority of their struggles stemmed from their inability to take care of the ball and convert on three-pointers. Committing 17 turnovers and shooting just 9 of 31 from three won’t be enough against a hungry Bulls side.

Raptors Key Player: (G) Dalano Banton

The Toronto Raptors have a great amount of experience between players from their main roster and G-League affiliate. Given the keys to the offence, Canadian guard Dalano Banton showed both the good and bad in his game.

Banton finished his first Summer League game of the year with 21 points 7 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, and a block. He was solid shooting the ball, 6 of 11 from the field, and got to the free throw line 9 times. His biggest issue was his carelessness with the ball, committing 7 of the team’s 17 turnovers.

The Raptors’ incoming sophomore guard has the size and speed to cause any defence issues. But when he’s out of control, he’s a detriment to their offence. He always puts in a good effort on the defensive end, but his ball security will determine his quality as a lead guard.
