The Knicks are coming off of a hard-fought game against the Eastern Conference leaders, although it was a loss. They have the offensive power to keep up, but their late-game defensive ability will hurt them against the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls are coming up against a rather offense-oriented team. While the Bulls like to focus on limiting opponents in the paint, it is New York’s three-point threat that should concern Chicago.
While New York have slowed down their three-point shooting pace as of late, they are still in the top ten in both three-point field goals made and conversion rate per game. The Bulls on the other hand would rather protect the paint, ranking in the bottom third of the three-point field goal percentage allowed.
The Bulls have a solid collection of wing defenders to chase around New York’s shooters. They can’t let New York’s perimeter threat take attention away from star scorers Randle and Barrett though.

The Chicago Bulls were dominant in their last victory, a win over the Charlotte Hornets. While their wing trio obviously starred, it was big man Nikola Vucevic who was completely dominant on the night.
Vucevic is one of the league’s most well rounded big men. He is coming off of a night where he posted 30 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. He was also on fire from three, hitting all 6 of his three-point attempts.
Chicago’s multiple-time All-Star at the center position is a nightmare matchup for defenders. Against New York’s paint-biased big men, Vucevic’s shooting can be the difference maker for the Bulls.
The New York Knicks have a large task ahead of them when they face off against the Chicago Bulls. To take one from one of the NBA’s stronger defensive teams, New York must improve their usually stagnant offence.
The Knicks are currently in the bottom third in terms of assists per game, while the Bulls hold their opponents to the second lowest assist average in the league.
Tom Thibodeau already took precautions around the Knicks’ lack of ball movement by removing Kemba Walker from the lineup. Their assist average hasn’t improved significantly since the change, but the improvement in pace should help the Knicks.

Alec Burks has performed admirably since Tom Thibodeau benched perennial All-Star Kemba Walker. Burks may not be a household name, but his last two appearances suggest that he is deserving of the promotion.
In his last two games, both starts, Burks has averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals on 42.1% shooting from the field and 47.1% from three-point range.
Burks has shown himself to be an excellent tertiary scoring threat for the Knicks. If he can continue his production against the defensively adept Bulls, his outlook with the starting lineup is quite promising.
