It wasn’t the Nets, but Kevin Durant who put forth a spectacular performance to lift the Nets over the Bucks. That doesn’t undo the Bucks’ quality and with home court and the pressure of an elimination game, Milwaukee should take a victory. | ||||

The Brooklyn Nets overcame the odds when they took down the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5. Off the back of an incredible Kevin Durant performance, the Nets role players need to be more productive.
The Nets’ three leading scorers in Game 5 were Durant, Griffin, and Green – all established veterans. The less experienced contributors, like Harris, Brown, and Shamet, combined for just 16 of the Nets’ 114 points.
James Harden also played 45 minutes, but struggling through injury he wasn’t particularly productive. While an excellent Durant performance is expected, the Nets role players need to support his efforts to ensure their victory.

A 49-point triple-double. Just incredible.

The Brooklyn Nets got by in Game 5 for one reason and that was the performance of Kevin Durant. The former NBA Finals MVP put on an historic performance to lead his side to victory.
Durant put up an incredible 49 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and two blocks on 16 of 23 shooting from the field. If it weren’t for him, and draft night trade partner Jeff Green, the Nets would’ve been on the brink of elimination.
The kind of performance that Durant put up was legendary, and fully within his capability for this upcoming match.
The Milwaukee Bucks are a talented team, only undone by one of the greatest fourth-quarter performances in NBA Playoff history. Outside of that, the Bucks were in control until the fourth quarter.
The Bucks do need to repeat their strong start in Game 5, while maintaining their effort throughout the game. Without a single Bucks player really challenging Durant on the defensive end, they may need to sacrifice an extra defender and force the ball out of his hands.
It’s difficult to say the Bucks need to do better than 49.4% shooting from the field and 40.6% shooting from three. Despite the disappointment, the Bucks are still in an excellent position.

The Greek Freak did everything he could in his last game against the Brooklyn Nets, but after Durant’s incredible performance the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player needs to take it to another level.
Antetokounmpo is coming off of a 34 point, 12 rebounds, and four assist performance on 14 of 22 shooting from the field.
In a series that has only reinforced the legend of Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo will need to put up a fantastic performance to carry his Bucks to a Game 7.
