NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Herro, Davis Overs and a Play-In Tournament SGP

Tuesday’s NBA Play-In Tournament action did not disappoint, and I’ve got player props you need to see for Wednesday’s 9/10 matchups.

The Golden State Warriors withstood the Memphis Grizzlies’ rally to win by five points thanks to 74 combined from Jimmy Butler III and Stephen Curry. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic obliterated the Atlanta Hawks and sent them packing early yet again.

Tonight’s matchups pit the Chicago Bulls against the Miami Heat, and the Sacramento Kings against the Dallas Mavericks.

Here are my top five NBA Play-In Tournament props for Wednesday.

Best NBA Prop Bets for Wednesday, April 16

Nikola Vucevic Under 1.5 Threes (-122) at FanDuel

Vuevic is known as a solid shooter for a big man and made 1.8 threes per game on 40.2 percent three-point shooting, but he went under this line in consecutive games to close the regular season. The Heat also made noticeable strides in their defense over the final month of the season, ranking sixth in points and 11th in made threes allowed per game.

Miami’s frontcourt with Bam Adebayo, Kel’El Ware, and Andrew Wiggins gives them size, length, range, and flexibility when it comes to defending opposing wings and centers. I expect Erik Spoelstra to have a trademark impressive defensive game plan and for the Heat to limit Vucevic’s influence.

Coby White Under 4.5 Assists (-152) at FanDuel

White is a shooter, but he’s not an elite playmaker. He only averaged 4.5 assists per game and went under in his last three contests, and the Heat’s defensive improvements over recent months also saw them rank sixth in assists allowed per game over the final 30 days of the season.

White went under in two of three matchups with the Heat this season and only had four assists when they played exactly one week ago. Spoelstra’s defense has tightened the screws, and that will make it harder for White’s Bulls teammates to make shots and help boost his assists total.

Tyler Herro Over 5.5 Rebounds (-102) at FanDuel

Herro is not exactly a terrific rebounder as he averaged 5.2 boards per game and went under in his final three games of the season, as well as in seven of his final nine games. However, he went over in two of three meetings with the Bulls, who ranked 25th in rebounds allowed to opposing point guards.

Chicago is going to try to find space on the perimeter to work around Miami’s frontcourt size. That should lead to an increase in three-point attempts, which increases the amount of long rebounds available to smaller players such as Herro, giving him a great chance to go over this line.

Anthony Davis Over 11.5 Rebounds (-122) at FanDuel

The Kings ranked sixth in rebounds allowed per game over the final month of the season, but that was largely due to their glacial pace of play since they were only average in rebound rate. Davis, meanwhile, had at least 15 rebounds in three straight matchups with Domantas Sabonis and just had 13 points in his last game.

Davis is a superstar player who has experience in the Play-In Tournament and needs to produce a strong showing to make up for the Doncic trade. He’ll be well-rested due to his time off with injuries, and I believe he will deliver in a big spot and with nothing to lose.

Domantas Sabonis Under 13.5 Rebounds (-120) at FanDuel

Well, this pick goes hand-in-hand with the one above, doesn’t it? Sabonis hovered around this line but went under in four of his last six games and is literally running into an enormous problem in the form of the Mavericks’ towering frontcourt.

With Daivs, Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, and PJ Washington, among others, all at the disposal of coach Jason Kidd, Sabonis will be outnumbered and largely left to fend for himself on the glass. He’ll play heavy minutes, but the Mavs’ extreme size makes the over on any rebounding props for opposing big men a daunting prospect.

NBA Same-Game Parlay (+211) at FanDuel

-Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings (-4.5)

  • DeMar DeRozan 1+ three: Mavs’ huge interior should force the Kings to take more threes, and DeRozan made a three in seven of his last nine games.

  • Anthony Davis 25+ points: Had 36 points the last time he faced Sabonis, split the over/under in April, and will get tons of minutes and opportunities in a do-or-die game.

  • Naji Marshall 4+ assists: Will essentially act as the Mavericks’ point guard, went over in four of his last six, and the Kings ranked 18th in assists allowed per game over the final month of the regular season.
