NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Paolo and Cade Bets and an NBA SGP

It’s easy to forget about the NBA amid the Round of 64 March Madness matchups, but my NBA player props are hot, and I have five to share for Friday’s games.

Bronny James scored a career-high 17 points during the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, while Jimmy Butler’s triple-double and late-game block helped the Golden State Warriors take down the Toronto Raptors after Steph Curry left with an injury.

Friday’s slate features a loaded menu of games, headlined by the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Memphis Grizzlies late in the evening.

Here are my top five NBA player props for Friday, along with a same-game parlay.

Additionally, be sure to check out our prediction for the Grizzlies vs. Clippers matchup.

Best NBA Prop Bets for Friday, March 21

Paolo Banchero Over 2.5 Threes (+140) at FanDuel

Banchero is not known as a prolific long-range shooter, but he’s found his stroke in recent weeks, shooting 40.4 percent from beyond the arc in March and going over this line in four of his last six games. He also did not go under in back-to-back games since Feb. 23-25 and hit three threes in consecutive games.

The Washington Wizards have shown some promise since the All-Star break, but they still allowed fourth-most made threes per game and rank 24th in three-point percentage allowed (36.6). Banchero only played them one time and went under in that instance, but he’s too hot to bet against.

Cade Cunningham Under 1.5 Threes (-102) at FanDuel

Cunningham is having a truly incredible season for the Detroit Pistons, but he isn’t doing it in the typical way that modern guards do. He’s a low-volume three-point shooter who went under in four of his last five games and shot 29.8 percent on 4.7 three-point attempts per game in March.

The Pistons are facing the Dallas Mavericks, who have been ravaged by injuries and have terrible defensive numbers over the last month and change. However, Cunningham, as someone who doesn’t take many three-point attempts, shouldn’t be too influenced by that and may not play many minutes if this ends up as a blowout.

Kevin Durant Over 5.5 Rebounds (-125) at FanDuel

The Cleveland Cavaliers seem to have decided to mail in the end of the regular season, having lost three straight games against average opponents after starting the year 56-10. The Suns, meanwhile, are 11th in the Western Conference and desperately need to win games to even have a shot at making the Play-In Tournament.

Durant went under in three of his last four games despite averaging 6.1 rebounds per game for the year as a whole. He also snagged seven rebounds when the Suns played the Cavs on the road on Jan. 20 despite losing by 26 points and only playing 31 minutes in the blowout.

Fred VanVleet Over 3.5 Rebounds (+104) at FanDuel

VanVleet, despite being 6-foot-nothing on a great day, has put together solid rebounding stretches this season and during his career. He had six and seven rebounds in his two most recent contests and went over in three of his last four games overall while averaging 5.2 boards per game in March.

The Houston Rockets are about to face the Miami Heat, who are average on the glass for the year and as of the last month of play. That’s despite them starting a tall, athletic lineup, and could be responsible for them losing nine straight games. Regardless, I like VanVleet to go over with how well the Rockets have played as of late.

Norman Powell Over 16.5 Points (-102) at FanDuel

Powell went under in his last three games, but each of those had extenuating circumstances. He played 18 minutes in a game against the Cavs, but that was because he was in foul trouble, he played 23 minutes in a 35-point blowout win against the Charlotte Hornets, and he played nine minutes in a game against the Lakers during which he was injured.

Powell went over this line in 18 straight games before that stretch. Granted, Kawhi Leonard looks healthy and has taken on a larger role in the offense, but Powell averaged 23.2 points per game for the year and is capable of lighting up a Grizzlies defense that ranked 25th in points allowed per game over the last month.

NBA Same-Game Parlay (+288) at FanDuel

-New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (-14)

  • Jaden McDaniels under 2.5 assists: He went under in three of his last five games and split the over/under against the Pels, who are in danger of getting blown out.

  • Julius Randle over 17.5 points: Went under in three straight but is averaging 18 points per game in March, while the Pelicans allowed the fifth-most points per game.

  • Yves Missi 6+ rebounds: Averaged 8.0 rebounds per game and went over in five straight games, including one against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
