As basketball fans across the country prepare for the surge of March Madness betting, I’m sharing five of my favorite NBA player prop bets for Monday night.
Numerous superstars turned in top-drawer performances on Sunday, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander being at the front of that with 31 points and eight assists in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves also combined for 61 points, 15 rebounds, and 14 assists in a win that sent the Phoenix Suns to six games below .500 with a 12-24 record on the road.
Most teams have about 15 games left on their regular-season schedule, and the competition for playoff spots is only heating up.
Here are my top five NBA player prop picks for Monday.
Additionally, be sure to check out our prediction for the Nuggets vs. Warriors matchup.

McBride, who is filling in for the injured Jalen Brunson, went under this line in three of his last four and did not average more than 3.1 rebounds per game in any month this season. He also had just two rebounds in 30 minutes of play against the same Miami Heat team he is playing tonight when they met on March 2.
The Heat ranked 10th in rebounds allowed per game over the last month of play and have a tall lineup with Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo, and Kel’el Ware. McBridge is more of a defensive pest than someone who is active on the glass and should go under.

Reaves has been incredible as a second or even first option without LeBron James and, in some games, Doncic. That said, he went under this line in seven of his last nine games and went under in two of three meetings with the San Antonio Spurs despite them ranking 23rd in assists allowed per game.
The Lakers have played a ton of games recently since they had to postpone games earlier in the year because of the California wildfires. Reaves and his Lakers teammates are going to be dealing with tired legs, and that should lead to a decline in shooting efficiency and assist totals.

Cunningham deserves an All-NBA spot this season, but he went under this line in six of his last 10 games and only shot 24.4 percent from three in March on 5.1 attempts per game. He also did not make a three-pointer in consecutive games against opposite extremes of defensive ability, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards.
The New Orleans Pelicans are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to defending the three, but Cunningham has proven that he isn’t influenced by the defenses he faces. There’s a real possibility for a blowout here, and the value makes this too enticing to pass on.

The Denver Nuggets allowed the most assists per game, which is obviously a concern. However, Curry went under this line in five straight games and is too valuable as a scorer in a matchup against a player like Nikola Jokic, meaning he should take more shots and pass the ball less.
Curry had 11 assists the last time he faced the Nuggets, but that was at the start of December and without Butler and Draymond Green. Denver has problems sustaining defensive efforts on the perimeter, and this feels like a game in which Curry is more likely to make seven threes than he is to register seven assists.

Talk about consistency. Haliburton recorded double-digit assists and no more than two turnovers in nine straight games as he continues to round back into the All-Star player the world had come to know than the impostor who began the year wearing his uniform.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are eighth in assists allowed per game to opposing point guards, but Haliburton’s ability to spot the pass early and care for the ball makes him somewhat impervious to those limitations. We also can’t bet against him when he went over in nine straight games and had 15 dimes his last time on the court.

-San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers (-9.5)
Chris Paul 6+ assists: Went over in eight of nine games and gets the Lakers on the second night of a back-to-back.
Stephon Castle 2+ threes: Showed a greater willingness to shoot threes recently and went over in five of nine, while LA is playing its 11th game in 19 days.
Luka Doncic 10+ rebounds: Had three straight games with 11+ rebounds and is still without Rui Hachimura and LeBron James, while the Spurs allowed the fifth-most rebounds per game over the last month.
