NBA Player Props and Best Bets: SGA Primed for Huge Night and a Heat vs. Cavaliers SGP

No need for midweek misery, these NBA player prop picks will get you through your 9-5 and to an evening chock-full of excitement in the Association.

Paolo Banchero’s 41-point, eight-rebound, eight-assist eruption wasn't enough for the Orlando Magic to beat the lowly Toronto Raptors, while Quentin Grimes dropped another 30-ball in the absence of Joel Embiid.

Kevin Durant also potentially saved the Phoenix Suns’ season as his 34 points helped his team rally from a 23-point deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 119-117.

Without further ado, here are my best NBA player props for Wednesday night.

Additionally, be sure to check out our prediction for the Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers matchup.

Best NBA Player Props Today March 5

Best NBA Prop Bets for Wednesday, March 5

Jerami Grant Under 13.5 Points

Grant has not played since Feb 26. when he dropped 15 points on the terrible Washington Wizards, giving him an even split of overs and unders in his last six games. He shot below 40 percent from the field every month of the season and is about to face the worst defense possible for a traditional wing, the Boston Celtics.

The C’s rank fifth in points allowed per game to small forwards and third in points allowed overall over their last 10 games. Grant is coming back from time off after not shooting the ball well at all and should have a hard time getting over, especially since he averaged 14 points per game or fewer over each of the last three months.

Malik Beasley Under 18.5 Points

Basley is shooting the leather off the ball, making 4.0 threes on 9.5 attempts per game or shooting 42.2 percent from beyond the arc. However, he went under this line in three straight and in six of his last eight games, including a game against this same Los Angeles Clippers team on Feb. 24.

Beasley’s nine points the last time he faced LA are representative of how strong the Clippers’ defense is, giving up the fourth-fewest points per game and ranking 11th in three-point percentage allowed. The Clippers blew a 23-point third-quarter lead last night and will be hungry to exact their revenge against one of the hottest teams in the league. I’m still getting used to saying that about Detroit.

Jaden McDaniels Under 1.5 Threes

McDaniels took just 3.9 threes per game this season, but even worse, he made only 32.9 percent of his attempts. He also went under this line in six of his last eight games and finished February by shooting 29.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Being the primary defender for the Minnesota Timberwolves, McDaniels will spend a lot of his energy chasing LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges around the perimeter. The Hornets also rank fourth in three-point percentage allowed (34.7) and held McDaniels to 1-5 shooting from deep in their only previous meeting.

Naji Marshall Over 14.5 Points

No Luka Doncic, no Kyrie Irving, no Anthony Davis, no Daniel Gafford, no Dereck Lively II, no Caleb Martin, no Dante Exum, no P.J. Washington, and no Jaden Hardy. The Mavs hardly have anybody to dress! Marshall could see the high 30s, potentially even up to 40 minutes of action in Wednesday’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Marshall is one of the few players on the roster that could crack the Dallas Mavericks’ healthy rotation, and he just scored 18 points on 53.8 percent shooting in his last game. He doesn’t have a long history of going over this line, but there simply aren’t going to be many players capable of scoring the ball, and he’ll get to take a ton of looks.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 4.5 Rebounds

The MVP frontrunner averaged 5.2 rebounds per game and went over in four of his last six games. His two games against the Memphis Grizzlies thus far ended with completely different results as he grabbed six rebounds in one and zero in the other.

Memphis plays at the fastest pace in the league and, despite being second in rebound rate, is still 12th in rebounds allowed per game. They’re also 16th in rebounds allowed per game to opposing point guards, and Gilgeous-Alexander should get to play a ton of minutes against one of the top challengers in the Western Conference.
