There’s no better way to get ready for the excitement of March Madness than with the excitement of the modern NBA, and it’s time we share our best NBA player prop bets for Tuesday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 51 points and seven assists in a hard-fought win over the Houston Rockets, while Caris LeVert’s buzzer-beating shot led the Atlanta Hawks to stun the Memphis Grizzlies, 132-130.
Tuesday’s slate of games includes several priority matchups, headlined by the Golden State Warriors visiting the New York Knicks.
Here are our best NBA player prop bets for the evening’s events, along with an NBA same-game parlay.
Additionally, be sure to check out our prediction for the Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks matchup.
Sengun, along with several of his Houston Rockets teammates, did not play in last night’s loss to the Thunder and will be at full energy on Tuesday. He dropped 30 points in his last game and went over in four of his last five, not to mention he dropped 31 points and 12 rebounds on the Indiana Pacers when they played on Nov. 20.
The Pacers are a much-improved defensive team but still don’t have tons of interior size and love to play at pace, which naturally creates more space and more possessions per game. Sengun is crafty and can overpower smaller defenders while using his skill to feint past Indy’s rim protectors.
Daniels went under in three straight and in four of his last five games despite having a great start to February on the glass. He had six rebounds the last time he met the Milwaukee Bucks and went over in two of their three encounters overall, but there’s reason to believe he’ll continue his recent stretch of unders.
The Bucks are league-average in three-pointers attempted per game, while the Hawks ranked 10th in opponents’ three-point attempts per game over their last 15 outings. That means there shouldn’t be a ton of long rebounds that escape the interior size of Clint Capela, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and others, meaning Daniels should go under.
Who would bet against Hunter with the way he shot the ball since being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers? He went over in six of eight games and shot 59.5 percent on 5.3 attempts per game with his new team, not to mention he dropped 32 points and went 5-9 from three in his last outing.
The Cavs are about to face a Chicago Bulls team that is 20th in three-pointers allowed per game for the year and 23rd over its last 15 games. Hunter split the over/under but made three threes the last time he faced the Bulls, albeit when he was still a member of the Hawks.
Reaves is expected to return from a sore calf, giving the Lakers four of their five usual starters. He went under in the last two full games he played but went over in six of 11 games in February, again, excluding a game against the Los Angeles Clippers during which he played just nine minutes.
Reaves’ assist potential is extremely high when sharing the court with LeBron James and Luka Doncic simply because of the shot-making of the other two. The New Orleans Pelicans are also a lowly 27th in assists allowed per game and were even more favorable to their opponents over the last few weeks.
Booker is in prime position to take advantage of the Clippers’ willingness to switch everything, as recently seen with Ivica Zubac attempting to guard Luka Doncic on the perimeter. Booker also scored 26 and 40 points in his last two meetings against the Clippers after he went under on opening night.
The Clippers are an outstanding defensive team, but their willingness to concede the switch is a problem with a great perimeter scorer like Booker. He’s also been explosive, albeit not overly consistent during recent weeks, but still went over in seven of 12 since the start of February.
-Golden State Warriors @ New York Knicks (-4.5)
Jimmy Butler under 17.5 points: Butler went under in three straight games, and the Knicks’ drop-heavy coverage along with the return of Mitchell Robinson should help protect against Butler getting to the rim for easy looks.
Josh Hart under 9.5 rebounds: The Warriors are ninth in rebound rate and are active on the wings, which will slow down Hart after he went under in consecutive games.
Jalen Brunson 25+ points: Brunson flipped the switch and went over in seven of his last 11, and he’s been outstanding in clutch situations all year.
