NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Haliburton, Johnson on the Struggle Bus

The non-stop action on the hardwood returns on Wednesday, and we’re sharing our favorite NBA player prop picks for the upcoming slate.

Luka Doncic dropped a triple-double in his first game against the Dallas Mavericks in what became an eight-point win, while the Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a 40-point win over the Orlando Magic thanks to a balanced team effort.

Here are our favorite NBA player prop picks for Wednesday.

Best NBA Player Props Today February 26

Best NBA Prop Bets for Wednesday, February 26

Jalen Duren Over 11.5 Points

Duren averaged 11.1 points per game but went over this line in four straight and in 11 of his last 13 games in what has been his best scoring month of the season, averaging 14.2 points on 69 percent shooting. The Boston Celtics typically don’t allow many points to opposing centers, but Duren already split the over/under against them with five and 15 points in two meetings.

All of Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Luke Kornet missed Tuesday’s meeting with the Toronto Raptors and are in jeopardy of sitting on Wednesday as well. Duren and the Pistons are riding a seven-game winning streak and are as confident as they’ve been in years, and we like him to keep his hot streak going.

Tyrese Haliburton Under 19.5 Points

Haliburton went over this line in three of his last four games, but he went under in seven of 10 games in February overall. That’s despite his recent uptick in shooting efficiency, which was not present earlier in the season when he looked like a shell of his All-Star self.

The Indiana Pacers are about to go to battle with the Raptors, who have been right about league-average in terms of points allowed per game over the last couple of weeks. Haliburton split the over/under against the Raptors in two meetings, dropping 16 and 30 points but not playing them since Dec. 3.

Quentin Grimes Over 2.5 Threes

Grimes played 32.3 minutes per night since he was traded by the Dallas Mavericks, and he could be in line for an even heavier workload with Joel Embiid, Guerschon Yabusele, Kyle Lowry, Justin Edwards, and Eric Gordon all prepared to miss the action. To add to that, he played 37 minutes in his last game which wasn’t a blowout loss, which is a sign that he’ll be on the court frequently.

Grimes made three threes in back-to-back outings and in three of his last four games. He and his new Philadelphia 76ers teammates are also about to take on a New York Knicks squad that allowed opponents to shoot 38.1 percent from three, the highest percent in the league, and to make 13.8 three-pointers per game (21st).

Cam Johnson Under 18.5 Points

Johnson was rumored to be a target of the Oklahoma City Thunder leading up to the trade deadline, but he was not dealt and remains an asset belonging to the Brooklyn Nets. He scored 17 points in his last game and went under this line in eight of his last nine games, and it’s hard to envision him reversing that trend against the best defense that professional basketball has to offer.

The Thunder allowed the second-fewest points per game and held Johnson to 15 points the last time they played on Jan. 19. OKC has tons of bodies they can throw at Johnson, and Brooklyn’s lack of credible scoring threats will allow them to load up their defense to slow him down.

Scoot Henderson Over 12.5 Points

Henderson has finally started to play better basketball over the last couple of months after he struggled in his rookie season. He put up 17 points in his last outing and went over this line in back-to-back games, as well as in six of his last 10 overall.

The Portland Trail Blazers get the privilege of taking on the Washington Wizards’ abhorrent defense, making their players’ overs attractive options. Washington allowed the most points per game and just isn’t a very competitive team, which makes Wednesday a good night for Portland to give minutes to its young guys.
