The NBA is back in full swing on Monday, and we’ve got the best NBA player prop picks to add to the excitement.
Jayson Tatum was one assist short of a 25-point triple-double in yet another convincing win for the Boston Celtics against the New York Knicks, while Shia Gilgeous-Alexander furthered his MVP case with 37 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Here are our best NBA prop bets for Monday’s slate.
The 22-year-old Mathurin saw his minutes cut recently, playing 24 and 21 minutes in his last two games despite averaging 26.6 in February and 29 in January. That coincided with terrible three-point shooting as he only made 29 percent of his attempts in February and 34 percent in January.
Mathurin fittingly went under this line in eight of his last nine games with the only over coming in overtime against the abhorrent Washington Wizards. The Indiana Pacers now have to take on the Denver Nuggets, who will be enraged after their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeVert had his ups and his downs after he was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Atlanta Hawks, but he went under this line in three of his last five games and shot 28.1 percent from three for the month. He also shot 26.5 percent from range in January after he had an electric start to the season from range.
The Atlanta Hawks are about to take on the Miami Heat, who rank 14th in three-point percentage allowed. LeVert went 2-2 from three in his only matchup with the Heat this season, but the low volume is the most important takeaway there and lines up with him taking 4.0 threes per game this month.
Murray made massive strides as a rebounder and is having a career year on the glass, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. He went over this line in five of his last eight games and did not record fewer than five boards in any of those, which means he’s consistently around, if not above this line.
The Sacramento Kings are about to take on the Charlotte Hornets, who rank 22nd in rebounds allowed per game. Charlotte got smacked 141-88 by the Portland Trail Blazers in its last game and isn’t exactly the most competitive team in the league, and we like Murray’s chances of finding his way over his total.
Harden averaged 5.8 rebounds per game and grabbed seven against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, yet we’re looking at him going under. Why? A major reason is that the Detroit Pistons allowed the third-fewest rebounds per game and have size in the backcourt with Cade Cunningham, an active rebounder who will limit Harden’s opportunities.
Another reason we like Harden to go under despite not having previous matchup data between these two teams is that Ivica Zubac has been a monster on the interior. With his strong rebounding and the Pistons’ commitment to the glass, there shouldn’t be a ton of balls bouncing Harden’s way.
The reigning Sixth Man of the Year made three threes against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night ahead of Monday’s rematch in OKC. He’s been just about 50/50 on the over/under recently but could be in line for heavy minutes with Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Jaylen Clark all listed on the injury report.
The Thunder allowed the sixth-fewest threes per game, but Reid went over in two of three matchups against them (both times in the last 11 days) and just played 40 minutes. He made 3.1 threes on 57.5 percent three-point shooting in January and would be the primary benefactor from the Thunder loading up to stop Anthony Edwards, thereby giving him extra space to operate.
