It’s Friday, and our NBA player prop picks are the key to closing out the week in the right way.
LeBron James joined Michael Jordan as the only 40-year-olds to score 40 points in a game last night in a 42-point, 17-rebound, eight-assist explosion against the Golden State Warriors, while the Indiana Pacers’ furious run late in the fourth quarter allowed them to take down the Los Angeles Clippers.
Here are our best NBA prop betting picks for Friday

Mitchell dropped in four threes against the Boston Celtics (in 14 attempts) on Tuesday and went over this line in five of his last seven games. He hasn’t shot the ball well against strong defensive teams, but that’s to be expected—not to mention that the Charlotte Hornets are not a good defensive team and could be worse with Dalton Knecht potentially receiving heavy minutes in the rotation.
Mitchell went over in all three of his previous matchups with the Washington Wizards, who are firmly the worst defensive team in professional basketball. The Wiz give up the second-most made threes per game, and we trust a shooter like Mitchell to get the job done.

This is more of a nod to Victory Wembanyama than anything. The Hornets lost their best interior defender, Mark Williams, shortly after they traded Nick Richards to the Phoenix Suns. We expect Wemby to feast, and for Paul to set him up with a bunch of great looks.
The legendary point guard went over this line in three of four and in five of his last eight games. The Hornets also made the third-fewest field goals per game, which means there should be tons of rebounds to go around for the members of the San Antonio Spurs.

Joel Embiid, no Joel Embiid, Paul George, no Paul George, Maxey has been balling out of his mind lately. The 24-year-old scored at least 30 points in seven straight games and went over this line in a whopping 16 straight games! Who even needs Embiid at that point!
The Detroit Pistons are a very strong defensive team and will make Maxey work on the defensive end, particularly because of the excellence of Cade Cunningham. Maxey still went over this line in his last game with Embiid and in four of his last seven with his big man teammate, and we like him to add to that on Friday.

Right off the bat, Giannis averaged 31.8 points and 5.9 assists per game and gets to take on an Atlanta Hawks squad that allowed third-most points and third-most assists per game. The Hawks also lost De’Andre Hunter in a trade and are missing Jalen Johnson to an injury, two players who would normally draw the defensive matchup.
To add to our theory of Giannis going over this line, he cruised to 32 points and nine assists the last time he faced the Hawks. He also had 31 points and five assists the first time they played this season on a lowly 14 shot attempts, and with his usual volume, we see him going over yet again.

Johnson is a deadeye shooter playing for a Brooklyn Nets team that lacks scoring and will give him tons of opportunities to shoot the ball. He made three threes in his last game and went over in six of his last nine games despite not shooting the ball well by his usual standard, which is better than 40 percent from three.
The Nets are facing a Miami Heat squad that is 16th in three-point percentage allowed and 21st in made threes allowed per game. Johnson also made three threes in seven attempts in his only previous matchup with the Heat this season on Dec. 23.
