NBA Player Props and Best Bets for January 29: Fade Maxey, Kawhi in the Midweek?

Published January 29, 2025

Our NBA player props are your key to breaking the midweek monotony and enjoying all the NBA has to offer on Wednesday.

Tyrese Maxey torched the Los Angeles Lakers for 43 points last night, while Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 39 points on the second night of a back-to-back weren’t enough to lift the Milwaukee Bucks past the Portland Trail Blazers.

Here are our best NBA prop bets for Wednesday night.

Best NBA Player Props Today January 29

Best NBA Prop Bets for Wednesday, January 29

Vasilije Micic Under 8.5 Rebounds+Assists

Micic averaged 5.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 12 games as a starter. He also went under this line in four of his last five games as a starter and in all 11 games in 2025, including when he played 33 minutes in two of his three most recent appearances.

The Charlotte Hornets are down LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, which means that their offense will fight an uphill battle for most of their game against the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn also does a nice job on the glass and should make it tough for Micic to get over this line on account of Charlotte not having many people capable of scoring the ball.

Devin Vassell Under 4.5 Rebounds

The 24-year-old two-guard went under this line in four straight games after a strong start to 2025 on the glass. He averaged 3.8 rebounds per game and is about to take on a Los Angeles Clippers squad that is seventh in rebounds allowed per game in 2025 and that ranks fifth in overall rebound rate.

Vassell only grabbed three rebounds in 26 minutes the last time he faced the Clippers on Dec. 31 and is about to play his first game back in America after he played two in Paris, France. The Clippers are playing good basketball and are stingy on the glass, and we believe he’ll end up under this line.

Kawhi Leonard Under 25.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists

A quick glance at this line would make the over seem like the best bet on account of the abysmal start to the year the Spurs had on defense, ranking near the bottom of the league in points, rebounds, and assists allowed per game. However, things aren’t always as they first appear.

Leonard went under this line in every appearance he made this season and doesn’t have his three ball going, having shot 29.4 percent from three and failed to make more than one triple in five of his last six games. The Spurs also have a defensive eminence on the interior who could discourage some of Leonard’s usual mid-range shots.

Tyrese Maxey Under 10.5 Rebounds+Assists

Maxey just put up 43 points in 36 minutes last night, but notably only had three rebounds and two assists in a win over the Lakers. He also went under this line in three of five games on the second night of a back-to-back, which is the situation he finds himself in on Wednesday night.

The Sixers are taking on the Sacramento Kings, who rank 12th in both rebounds and points allowed per game—however, those numbers jump to second in assists and fourth in rebounds allowed per game to opposing point guards, not to mention the Kings had an extra day of rest between games.

Ayo Dosunmu Under 4.5 Assists

Ayo, not to be confused with an impassioned chant or 50 Cent’s hit song “Ayo Technology,” went under this line in six straight games and averaged 2.7 assists per game in 2025. He went over in two of three matchups with the Boston Celtics, but Boston is third in assists allowed per game in the new year.

The C’s should come out with a fire after they lost on a game-winning shot to the Houston Rockets at home their last time out. Dosunmu will also have fewer playmaking responsibilities with Lonzo Ball back in the rotation and Josh Giddey acting as the primary initiator.
