NBA Player Props and Best Bets for January 28: Anthony Davis to Stay Hot, Amen Thompson Regression Inbound

Our NBA player prop bets were a perfect 5-0 yesterday. Don’t worry if you missed out, because we’re coming right back with five more betting picks for Tuesday!

Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo both dropped 35 points in a dominant win over the Utah Jazz (wish helped us cash our over on Lillard’s points), while the New York Knicks blew the Memphis Grizzlies out of Madison Square Garden (and completed our Ja Morant fade).

Here’s a look at our favorite NBA player prop picks for Tuesday’s action.

Best NBA Player Props Today January 28

Best NBA Prop Bets for Monday, January 28

Anthony Davis Over 12.5 Rebounds

Davis has been an absolute monster on the boards this season, ranking sixth with 12.1 rebounds per game. He grabbed a whopping 23 rebounds in last night’s win over the Charlotte Hornets and went over in three of his last four games while averaging 13.8 rebounds per game in 2025.

The Philadelphia 76ers are 20th in rebounds allowed per game in the New Year, while the Lakers are third. Paul George, Joel Embiid, Andre Drummond, Caleb Martin, and KJ Martin are all out on Tuesday night, which gives Davis an easy and obvious path to an over.

Amen Thompson Under 18.5 Points

Thompson was spectacular last night, scoring 33 points in 42 minutes and sinking the game-winning jump shot with 1.1 seconds on the clock. He averaged 19.2 points per gamer in January and went over more times than not, but we still have some hesitance.

Thompson is young and full of energy, but he played 42 minutes last night and 39.4 minutes per game in January. He is now on the second night of a back-to-back, a situation in which the Houston Rockets have struggled, and his inability to shoot the three-ball makes him incapable of taking advantage of the Atlanta Hawks’ biggest defensive weakness.

Trae Young Over 2.5 Threes

While the Rockets are an excellent defensive team overall, they have been terrible at limiting their opponents’ three-point productivity in January. They allowed teams to shoot 40 percent from deep, the second-worst mark in the league during that time.

Young went under in three straight games but still averaged 3.1 made threes per game on 37 percent three-point shooting since the calendars turned ahead. He’s rested and at home, while the Rockets will be tired and could be complacent since they just took down the defending champs.

Deni Avdija Over 16.5 Points

Once the Wizraeli, the new Portland Trail Blazer has been lighting up the scoreboard in recent weeks. He averaged 16.8 points in December and 17.9 in January and just dropped 28 points on the Oklahoma City Thunder’s league-best defense his last time on the court.

Avdija put up 19 points and 14 rebounds the last time he faced the Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 4. He shot the ball extremely well for two straight months, is facing an older team on the second night of a back-to-back, and likely won’t lose points to the injured Deandre Ayton.

Lauri Markkanen Over 6.5 Rebounds (+114) at FanDuel

“The Finnisher” snatched nine rebounds last night against the Bucks after going under in six straight games before that. While his rebounding productivity decreased in recent weeks, his towering size gives him a clear advantage against a shorter Golden State Warriors squad that is down Jonathan Kuminga and could also miss Draymond Green.

Markkanen had eight rebounds in his only previous matchup with the Warriors this season and should still have some extra motivation since he was heavily linked to a possible trade to the Bay. John Collins is also dealing with an illness and could miss the matchup, which would give Markkanen more rebounding opportunities.
