The 2024-25 NBA Cup begins with a bevy of matchups around the league on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Indiana Pacers to claim the inaugural trophy a year ago. This time, the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves atop the odds board.
With the playoff-like atmosphere beckoning, we’ve taken the liberty of picking our favorite NBA player prop picks for Tuesday’s games.
Here are our best NBA player prop picks for the opening night of the NBA Cup.

Make no mistake about it, Tatum has been a force this season. He’s third in the NBA in scoring with a career-high 30.5 points per night on 46.5 percent shooting from the field and 36.7 percent from three, and he’s taking a career-high 11.6 three-point attempts per game.
The 26-year-old reigning champion eclipsed 30 points in three straight games and hit the over seven straight outings. He gets to face an Atlanta Hawks team that is 27th in defensive rating and that allows opposing teams to make 39.9 percent of their three-pointers, the highest percentage in the league.

The babyface assassin isn’t a baby anymore at 36 years old, but he’s still playing at a high level. He dropped 36 points in 37 minutes his last time on the court against the OKC Thunder’s excellent defense, but notably, that marked his first game this season during which he made more than four threes.
The greatest shooter the game has ever seen went under this line in six of seven outings thus far. He’s still shooting an elite 43.5 percent from range, but his 8.9 three-point attempts per game are the fewest since the 2014-15 campaign. The Warriors also have other players they can rely on and are facing a Dallas Mavericks defense that is eighth in three-point percentage allowed (34.2).

Ant Man is the most athletic player in basketball… and the best three-point shooter in the league? The 23-year-old is in his fifth season in the NBA and averaged 28.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists to go with a league-high 5.4 made threes per game on a net-ripping 45.8 percent shooting from deep.
Edwards’ distance shooting is (probably) going to take a step back at some point, but he’s demonstrated more consistency than he did at any point during his career and went over this line in six of 10 games. He’s also a true competitor and will embrace the atmosphere of day one of the NBA Cup.

Duren, 20, only averaged 8.0 points thus far. Despite that, he went over in five of nine games, which might bring into question why we like him to go under when he and the Detroit Pistons take on the Miami Heat.
For starters, Duren is dealing with a flat tire (a sprained ankle) and only played eight minutes in his last game. He also has to go against Bam Adebayo, one of the best interior defenders in the world, and a Miami Heat defense that is 11th in points in the paint allowed to opponents.

Daniels is having a career year in his first season with the Hawks, averaging 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.3 steals in 32.2 minutes per night. His three-point shot is a work in progress, but he’s had a positive impact on a Hawks team that is still trying to find its identity.
Notice how we didn’t mention assists? That’s because Daniels averaged 2.4 and only gave our 4+ assists one time this season. The Celtics also rank fifth in assists allowed per game and will make it tough for the young Australian to get to the over.
