The Dallas Mavericks find themselves in an 0-2 hole heading back to Texas for Game Three of the NBA Finals. They will benefit from Kristaps Porzingis’ injury and his likelihood of missing Wednesday’s contest, but they’ll need more from Kyrie Irving and the supporting cast to have a chance at making a comeback in the series.
Here are our favorite NBA player prop picks for Game Three of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

Tatum has shot the ball at a historically poor clip in his NBA Finals career, but he’s still finding ways to contribute to his team in other areas of the game. The Celtics’ star averaged 10.3 rebounds in the playoffs and split the over/under in the first two games, grabbing 11 in Game One and nine in Game 2.
With Porzingis looking like he will be ruled out for Game Three (and potentially the remainder of the series), Tatum will have an even larger responsibility to clear the boards. He also may play even more minutes after he averaged 43.5 if the Celtics opt not to insert a new player into their rotation and disperse Porzingis’ usual minutes among their top seven guys.

Irving is yet to show up in these finals and is 0-8 from three across the two games, a startling break-off from the 41.1 percent standard he maintained from downtown during the regular season. While he should come good at some point in the series, Boston has remained committed to crowding him on the three-point line and will continue to make it difficult for him to thrive on the perimeter.

Assuming Porzingis doesn’t play, Dallas will be able to position its centers (Gafford and Dereck Lively II) closer to the basket since they won’t have to cover Porzingis beyond the three-point line. That proximity to the basket means Gafford will have a better chance to go over his rebounding total.
The 25-year-old hauled in nine rebounds in 23 minutes in Game Two after he managed just three in the series opener (partially because Boston couldn’t miss a shot). He averaged 7.0 rebounds since the start of the second round and has a favorable matchup against Al Horford and either no backup center or Luke Kornet, depending on which route Joe Mazzulla takes.

Luka has been criticized for playing subpar defense in this series, but that’s largely because he’s had to carry nearly all of his team’s offensive burden. Although he’s yet to go over this total in the series, he shot 51.1 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three and is in a strong position to cash the over in Game Three.
The Mavs are backed into a corner with their 0-2 deficit but have a lifeline in the form of Porzingis’ injury. Although Luka hasn’t been bad in this series, he’s still yet to have a truly outstanding game, and that could be on the immediate horizon with his team going to Dallas for their first home game of the Finals.

Kleber is essentially a very-low-grade Porzingis who is yet to make any real impact in the series. He shot just 20 percent from the field and scored two total points across 35 minutes in the first two games, and with Boston’s big man likely to be sidelined by his injury, Dallas could pivot back to a big-man rotation centered around Gafford and Lively.
Kleber hasn’t done anything to suggest that he’ll regain his shooting touch since he returned from his injury, only cashing the over (with a high of three points) one time in four games since his return. He also did not have the desired defensive impact in Games One or Two, which makes him even more likely to lose his playing time.
