The Boston Celtics took down the Indiana Pacers 126-110 behind 40 points and five rebounds from Boston’s best performer in the postseason, Jaylen Brown. Tyrese Haliburton only scored 10 points and left with a hamstring injury in the same leg he missed 10 games with a hamstring injury earlier in the year.

Irving came out with a level of aggression and efficiency in Game One he didn’t show during the first half of any game in his last series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He finished the game with 30 points despite failing to make a single three-pointer and deferring to Luka Doncic on countless possessions in the closing minutes.
The Dallas Mavericks already did their job and stole home court from the Minnesota Timberwolves, winning a Game One for the first time in these playoffs—but Irving went over scored 30+ points in four of seven playoff games not against the Thunder and proved he can handle the Wolves’ league-leading defense, which is why we’re backing him for the second straight game.

Where would the Mavericks be without Washington? The answer? Likely out of the playoffs, or at least preparing for a Game Seven with the Thunder (or maybe even the Los Angeles Clippers). His arrival, along with Daniel Gafford, transformed Dallas from solid to truly excellent, and he’s now a focal piece of the team.
The 25-year-old went over in every game except for one in the six-game series with the Thunder and snatched seven boards in Game One. He also just tied a personal playoff high with 41 minutes played and is going to have to continue to battle on the boards, given the height on Minnesota’s roster.

McDaniels was outstanding in Game One, despite the loss, scoring 24 points on 60 percent shooting and going 6-9 from three. However, his track records in the regular season and playoffs are reason enough to believe that he is due for regression to the mean when the teams meet for Game Two on Friday night.
Despite hitting the over in three straight games, McDaniels cashed the under on this line in eight of 12 playoff games thus far. The Mavericks also kept opponents to 35.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc in the playoffs and have wings (such as Washington) they can send his way if they choose to.

Jones Jr. has been relatively consistent in the playoffs—consistently going 50/50 with his rebounding prop which, since he hit the over in Game One, could be a bit of a warning sign. But based on his recent usage (35+ minutes in back-to-back games), we trust he’ll be on the floor long enough to cash this bet.
The Mavericks are going to have to rebound the ball to continue to keep the advantage in the series. The Timberwolves were somewhat lackadaisical in Game One but should be on their best behavior in the rematch, meaning better defense, more missed shots, and more rebounding opportunities for the springy forward.

Anderson made a resoundingly positive impact in Game One, during which many of his teammates were not at their best, but that does not make up for his lack of production throughout the postseason. His 11 points in Game One were nearly double his next-highest-scoring game of the playoffs, and he went under this line in seven of 12 outings.
The Timberwolves were barely able to play Nickeil Alexander-Walker in their last two games because of how poor he was shooting the ball, but with any luck, he’ll find his touch and get back to playing 25+ minutes. That would fill Anderson’s spot in the rotation and leave him with few chances to get to the over.
