Tuesday wasn’t a day for fans of close, hard-fought basketball games as both favorites dominated Game 1 in their respective series.
The Boston Celtics lit up the Cleveland Cavaliers behind 57 points from Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, while the Oklahoma City Thunder pulled away from the Dallas Mavericks to win by 22 points, led by 29 from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Tyrese Haliburton disappointment continues. The Indiana Pacers’ All-Star and upcoming member of Team USA scored six points on just six shots in a very winnable Game One that he bears the blame for not securing. He has now finished under this total in five of seven playoff games, two of which he failed to even score 10 points.
Haliburton is shooting just 42.9 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from three-point range in the postseason, which actually is about where he’s been ever since he returned from his hamstring injury in January. The New York Knicks aren’t going to make life any easier on defense, which is why we’re betting on him going under again.

DiVincenzo played all 48 minutes in the closeout game against the Philadelphia 76ers and accumulated 44 in Game One against Indy. Despite being on the court all that time, the former national champion at Villanova only averaged 3.5 rebounds and has not beaten this line in any playoff game thus far.
The Knicks’ sharpshooting guard is one of the only players on the court who does not play to crash the glass. He looks to get out in transition and provide outlets for throw-aheads and also trails the Pacers’ guards on the perimeter, which gives him few opportunities to end up with rebounds.

Hartenstein played a playoff-high 36 minutes in Game One and should see the court for even longer moving forward now that Mitchell Robinson is out with another lower-body injury. That will give him plenty of time to build on the four assists he dished out on Monday before the Knicks head on the road for Games Three and Four.
Indiana does not do a good job defending the interior, and New York’s best option is allowing Jalen Brunson to get downhill. Expect to see numerous instances of Hartenstein setting high screens or running high DHOs and dragging the opposing big man out of the paint to clear space for Brunson, allowing him to raise his assist total.

It's remarkable to think that McConnell was out of the Pacers’ rotation earlier in the year. He dropped 18 points in 22 minutes on 56.3 percent shooting in Game One, a few days after he scored 20 in the closeout game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
McConnell is a veteran presence that provides relentless energy on both ends whether he’s leading the second unit or on the court with the starters. He only beat this line twice in the playoffs, but he figures to play a crucial part in the series and proved he can exploit his matchup with Brunson.

Enough can’t be said of the job that Hart has done for the Knicks in the playoffs. He improved his scoring, rebounding, and assists averages from 9.4, 8.3, and 4.1 per game during the regular season to 17.9, 12.4, and 5.0 in the playoffs. He also went over this total in five of his last seven games and is playing the most impressive basketball of his entire career.
The 29-year-old is fresh off a 24-point, 13-rebound, eight-assist performance in a Game One victory over the Pacers. His speed and aggression in transition are going to be key in unlocking the Indy defense, and he’s also spent more time with the ball in his hands as New York has gotten Jalen Brunson off of the ball more.
