Suggs is going to have to be a scoring threat for the Orlando Magic to stay competitive with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who opened up an enormous lead on them in Game One and won by 14 points. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner won’t be able to win a series by playing into the teeth of the Cavs’ defense, and Suggs’ scoring and shooting will be crucial to maintaining their space.
Suggs scored 13 points and, more importantly, took 16 shots in Game One. He beat this total in six of his last seven games, though he went under in all four regular-season matchups with the Cavs, which is why the pressure is on him to perform or risk sliding into an 0-2 hole.
Strus only went 1-5 from beyond the arc in Game One, but similar to Suggs, his shooting is going to be crucial for the Cavaliers. The Magic play aggressive defense with lots of rotations on the back side of the defense, which can leave the corners exposed to three-point snipers such as the first-year Cavalier.
Strus only hit this line in two of his last six games but is more than capable of heating up on his day. Expect him to have a relatively high shot volume if Orlando continues to be active with its defense near the baseline and the Cavs successfully move the ball the way they did in Game One.
The 23-year-old fan-favorite did not go down without a fight in Game One, scoring 33 points on 14-26 shooting in spite of Joel Embiid limping his way to the finish line. He’s now gone over this line in three of four meetings with the New York Knicks, who don’t have any real backcourt size or defensive speed to slow him down.
Maxey is going to need to become the focal point of the Philly offense with Embiid laboring the way that he was on Saturday. He’s proven that he can fill that role and spent months as the primary option while Embiid was injured, and those reps should work in his favor as the Sixers look to climb out of a 0-1 hole.

This pick also ties back into the poor health of Embiid, who writhed in pain after landing awkwardly and was barely able to jump in the second half of Game One. Harris, who can be a solid rebounder when asked to be, is going to have to provide more cover for his MVP teammate, who just is not healthy enough to dominate the interior the way he normally does.
Harris grabbed nine boards in Game One and went over this line in three straight games. He only hit the over one time during the regular-season series with the Knicks but found himself in good positions on Saturday and should have a solid chance to go over again.

The Los Angeles Lakers might not have beaten the Denver Nuggets nine straight times, but Reaves has played good individual basketball. The former undrafted guard averaged 18.0 points and 5.8 assists during those nine losses and could be in for a larger role if D’Angelo Russell struggles the way he did in Game One and in the 2023 Western Conference Finals.
Reaves only managed 13 points and three assists in Game One but performed well throughout the playoffs a year ago and should bring his A-Game into Monday’s matchup with the Lakers needing a road split before returning to LA.
