Cunningham had a great last week and change of basketball, averaging 28.5 points and leading the Detroit Pistons to a win and an overall improved level of play. However, there’s reason to believe that he will take a step back when he and his squad take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
The 2021 first-overall pick doesn’t have many stretches of sustained scoring dominance, so it’s unlikely he will extend his streak to five games. Cleveland also ranks third in points allowed per 100 possessions for the year and finished February ranked sixth, so they should be able to keep him in front of them on defense.

Towns, the self-proclaimed greatest shooting big man in NBA history, beat this line in all three games since the All-Star break and shot 40.9% from deep on 6.6 attempts per game during February. He already faced three strong defenses and now gets to go against the Sacramento Kings, who are above average but not elite.
Stylistically, Towns is part of a matchup that should help him get a lot of open threes. He has a major side advantage on Keegan Murray and could find space on the perimeter if Murray sags off to prevent the drive, and Domantas Sabonis would rather not defend him that far away from the rim whenever Rudy Gobert is off the court.

Holiday averaged 5.7 boards for the year, though he only beat this total one time in his last four games. Luckily, that one time was in his last outing against the Philadelphia 76ers, and we believe that he will carry that momentum into an important clash with the Dallas Mavericks at home.
The Mavs play a lot of isolation ball and use constant screens to create defensive mismatches. Both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving will be aware of how elite Holiday is on defense and should call screens to get him off of them, which will then leave him off the ball and waiting to collect rebounds should the possession end with a missed shot.

Hield’s scoring numbers have slowly ticked down since he arrived in the City of Brotherly Love, culminating in a six-point dud against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. He went under this line in each of his last two outings and is now facing a Charlotte Hornets team that isn’t the pushover they used to be.
Charlotte ranks eighth in post-All-Star break defensive rating and is much more committed to defending, especially beyond the three-point line, with an energized and retooled roster. Hield is an elite three-point sniper but doesn’t offer a ton beyond that, and he’ll find it tough to shoot over the length of the Hornets’ wings.

White hasn’t been able to hit the same heights he did before the season intermission a couple of weeks ago, averaging 15 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.5 rebounds since the All-Star break. He also averaged just 12 points in his last two games and went under in three of the last four and will have a hard time breaking out of the slump against a Milwaukee Bucks team that ranks seventh in defensive rating since Doc Rivers took over.
The Bucks might not have great personnel on the perimeter, but Doc’s system has brought understanding and continuity to his team's defensive approach. Chicago also plays at a slow pace, which could lead to a pedestrian night for White.
