Best NBA Prop Bets Today January 18

Immanuel Quickley Over 5.5 Assists (-104) at FanDuel

Quickley has provided the Toronto Raptors with pace and rim pressure they did not previously have. He registered nine assists in 30 minutes against the Miami Heat on Wednesday and went over this total in four of his last seven games.

The Chicago Bulls want to slow games down and play in the halfcourt, which is why Quickley’s speed and commitment to getting to the rack will both be invaluable. There’s a chance he becomes more of a scoring threat as he looks to break Chicago’s defensive setup, but he’s growing as a facilitator and seems comfortable in that role.

Jalen Brunson Over 28.5 Points (-120) at FanDuel

Brunson scored 32 and 33 points in two games against the Washington Wizards this season and also cracked 30 points in four of six meetings since becoming a New York Knick. He put up 30 points in each of his last two outings, most recently against a strong Houston Rockets team.

The Wizards have the second-worst defensive rating in the entire NBA and just allowed the Detroit Pistons to score 129 points in a Monday loss. The major concern here is that the Knicks blow the Wizards out and Brunson doesn’t see enough action to get to the over, but he’s worth the risk.

Walker Kessler Over 5.5 Rebounds (-142) at FanDuel

Kessler’s average minutes are down this month compared to the season as a whole, but he was given 25 minutes (above his average of 23.4) his last time out against the Indiana Pacers. The 22-year-old snagged six or more boards in seven of his last 10 games and is well rested after last playing on Monday.

The Utah Jazz are facing the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are excellent in every phase except for rebounding. OKC ranks just 28th in rebound rate and 29th in defensive rebound percentage, which should give the former Auburn star a great opportunity to boost his rebound total.

Jaren Jackson Jr. 30+ Points (+320) at FanDuel

Jackson Jr. played two games without Desmond Bane this season, scoring 18 points in one game and 44 in the other. He rarely gets to 30 points but will also be missing Bane, Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, and several other key members of the rotation, leaving him as one of the few legit scoring options on Memphis’ team.

Jackson Jr. took 20 field goals in each of his last three outings and should be in for a similar, if not larger workload on Thursday. The Minnesota Timberwolves have the best defensive rating in the league, but Jackson is a near-lock to get his shots up no matter who’s defending him.

Domantas Sabonis Over 21.5 Points (-115) at FanDuel

All-NBA-level big men dominate the Pacers every time they see them. The worst performance by a player of that caliber was, funnily enough, Nikola Jokic, who logged 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists on 92.3% shooting on Sunday.

In 12 games against elite big men, the Pacers allowed an average of 37.6 points. Sabonis scored 21 points in each of his last two games but shot better than 80% from the field in both instances and should be able to capitalize on playing the worst interior defense in the association.
