Best NBA Prop Bets Today December 12

Anthony Davis Under 27.5 Points (-122) at FanDuel

AD put up a monstrous 41 points, 20 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks in the In-Season Tournament championship his last time on the court. Sounds like a launching pad for an ascension into the MVP conversation and momentum for another explosive outing on Tuesday, right?

From what we know about Davis, wrong. The 2020 champion has a bad habit of fading when all signs point toward him taking off, and we expect that trend to hold. He also went under the 27.5-point total three straight times before the IST championship and will get a tough defensive matchup from rookie Dereck Lively II.

Luka Doncic Over 3.5 Threes (-136) at FanDuel

The Lakers are first in the NBA in defensive rating since Cam Reddish and Jarred Vanderbilt returned to their lineup, but some superstars just can’t be guarded. Doncic is one of those guys and is having a career year from three-point land, shooting 38.8% on a career-high 10.2 attempts per game.

Luka made 5+ threes in three of four games this month and sank five against the Memphis Grizzlies last night. He’s also playing 40.8 minutes per game over his last four outings and should be on the court for a while since Kyrie Irving is out, which should lead to him going over his total.

Kristaps Porzingis Over 6.5 Rebounds (-113) at FanDuel

Everyone knows by now that Porzingis is not the typical menacing center, and he only averages 6.4 boards per game. However, he has a strong chance to go over his total because of the style and personnel of his upcoming opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavs are in the bottom 10 in three-point attempts per game—fewer threes leads to fewer long rebounds, or more shorts that don’t carry too far from the hoop. The Cavs have a strong rebounder in Jarrett Allen anchoring their team but are playing the second night of a back-to-back and did not feature the injured Evan Mobley last night, and he could very well be out again.

Jusuf Nurkic 4+ Assists (+150) at FanDuel

Nurkic is a perfect fit with the Phoenix Suns because of his ability to clog space on the interior while also being a capable passer at and around the free-throw line. Kevin Durant is also questionable with an ankle problem, and if he’s out, Nurkic should take over some of the playmaking responsibilities.

We want to emphasize that this pick does depend on Durant missing the contest, because in three games without KD this season, Nurkic recorded three, four, and six assists. The Golden State Warriors also rank 12th in pace, which will lead to more opportunities for the big Bosnian to record some assists.

Jayson Tatum Over 26.5 Points (-120) at FanDuel

Tatum is unquestionably “the guy” in Boston, though his scoring output has been a little erratic as of late. He only went over this line twice in his last seven outings, yet we’re still picking him to climb over on Tuesday.

Why, you might ask? First, he hasn’t played since Friday, while the Chicago Bulls are on the second night of a back-to-back. Second, he averaged 33 points in three meetings with Cleveland last year, scoring 26+ points in all three outings (with a high of 41). Third, the Cavs have no defensive matchup for him, which leaves us feeling positive about his over.
