Damian Lillard is known for his scoring prowess, but his playmaking ability is critical to the Trail Blazers' success. At Caesars Sportsbook, Lillard is a +100 to clear 7.5 assists when he takes on the Detroit Pistons.
On the season, Lillard is averaging 32.3 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds on 47.2% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range. In his last game, though, Lillard produced 33 points, eight assists, and four rebounds on 47.6% from the field despite the losing effort.
Lillard has cleared 7.5 assists in 25 of his 50 games this season while doing it just twice in his last five games. While his scoring ability is always engaged, against a porous Pistons defense, Lillard can take full advantage of the offensive mismatches to benefit his playmaking.
High-scoring guard Trae Young is coming off of a poor performance and will need to bounce back if the Hawks have any hopes of winning. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Young is a +165 to clear 1.5 steals when he takes on the Miami Heat.
On the season, Young has been averaging 26.7 points, 10.1 assists, and 1.1 steals on 42.6% shooting from the field and 32.6% from three-point range. While he produced just 8.0 points and 10.0 assists in his last game against the Heat, he collected five steals to compensate for his offensive woes.
Young has collected more than 1.5 steals in just 15 of his 57 games this season but has done so in three of his last five games. His defensive effort has picked up under new coach Quin Snyder, which should result in maintained production on Monday night.
Jakob Poeltl has helped the Toronto Raptors immensely since he joined them at the trade deadline, and he'll hope to maintain his impressive production in a contract year. At PointsBet, Poeltl is a +115 to clear 11.5 rebounds and assists combined when he takes on the Denver Nuggets.
Since joining the Toronto Raptors, Jakob Poeltl has been averaging 15.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.8 blocks on 76.0% shooting from the field. Over his last five games, where the Raptors have gone 3-2, Poeltl has averaged 14.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks on 70.0% shooting from the field.
Poeltl is different from what you'd traditionally call a playmaker, but his chemistry with former teammates Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet has been apparent. Through his last five, he's cleared 11.5 rebounds and assists combined three times. On the season, he's cleared 11.5 rebounds and assists in 24 of his 55 appearances. Against a tough Nuggets defense, Poeltl will be an active passer for Toronto while also battling on the glass.
