The NBA kicks off the week with a number of exciting matchups, featuring some of the NBA's biggest stars!
When the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers face off, stretch big man Myles Turner will be asked to beat the gritty Heat defense from range. Jerami Grant will be looking to take advantage in the paint when his Portland Trail Blazers face the Minnesota Timberwolves. And in the marquee matchup of the night, Ivica Zubac and the LA Clippers will look to control the undersized Boston Celtics on the glass.
Let's check out the bets!
Myles Turner is one of the NBA's better stretch big men, sporting a game that involves play in the paint as much as it does on the perimeter. At WynnBet, Turner is a +170 to score 2+ three-pointers when he takes on the Miami Heat.
On the season, Turner is averaging 17.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks on 55.1% shooting from the field and 41.5% shooting from three-point range. Turner has been particularly aggressive from three-point range over his last four games as well, shooting 52.9% from deep on 4.3 attempts per game.
The Miami Heat are a solid team when it comes to defending the three-point line, but a shooting big man can throw a wrench in their plans. With the excellent Tyrese Haliburton manipulating the offense, Turner should have plenty of opportunities to convert from range.
Jerami Grant has taken great strides in his game through the 2022-23 NBA season, mostly seen in his offensive production. At DraftKings, Grant is a +110 to clear 4.5 rebounds when he faces the Minnesota Timberwolves.
On the season, Grant is averaging 22.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 47.2% shooting from the field and 45.1% shooting from three-point range. Grant's focus hasn't particularly been on the boards this year, but over his last three, he is averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 36.9 minutes per game.
Grant's style of play has made a decided switch to the perimeter at this point in his career and it seems to have worked for him. He's cleared 4.5 rebounds in 11 of his 25 games this season, but against a poor rebounding Minnesota Timberwolves team - who are also missing their second-best rebounder - Grant should produce across the board.
While the LA Clippers have been inconsistent this season, veteran big man Ivica Zubac has been a pillar of production for them. At PointsBet, Zubac is a -110 to collect more than 11.5 rebounds when the faces the Boston Celtics.
On the season, Zubac is averaging 10.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 30.4 minutes per game with the LA Clippers. However, over his last five games, Zubac has been averaging 10.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. Despite his less-than-average performance, Zubac will be facing a Celtics team who will struggle to match him inside.
The Boston Celtics rebound the ball as a squad, but they struggle against their opponents. Against a team that is ranked in the bottom third in rebounds allowed per game, and who are without key big men Al Horford and Robert Williams, Zubac should clear 11.5 given the matchups.
