Best NBA Prop Bets April 17

There are two games on the schedule for the NBA Playoffs on Monday night. In the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets try to salvage a game at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. In the Western Conference, the reigning Champion Golden State Warriors hope to jump back into the race in Game 2 against the Sacramento Kings. We've got the most intriguing player props for Monday night!

Joel Embiid's scoring and rebounding dominance earned the Sixers Game 1, but in Game 2, his passing ability will be the focus with an adjusted defense from the Nets. On Brooklyn's side, sharpshooting forward Cameron Johnson must maintain his form for the Nets to stay competitive.

In the Sacramento Kings' Game 1 victory over the Golden State Warriors, veteran forward Trey Lyles stepped up to help his team win. Draymond Green must improve his defensive production on the Warriors' side of the ball to keep Golden State competitive.

Let's check out the bets!

Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers: Best Prop Bets

Joel Embiid Assists Over 3.5 (+110) @ PointsBet

Joel Embiid was excellent through Game 1 of the Sixers' 2022-23 First Round game. At PointsBet, Embiid is a +110 to dish four or more assists when he takes on the Brooklyn Nets in Game 2. As the focus of the Sixers' offense, he'll surely get more defensive attention in Game 2 - opening up his already impressive passing game.

Embiid has put on an MVP-worthy performance this season, averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game on 54.8% from the field and 33.0% from deep. In Game 1 of the Sixers' first-round series, Embiid posted 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists on 46.7% from the field and 25.0% from deep. While he wasn't his usual self on the glass, Embiid's offensive threat opened up the opportunity for his playmaking.

There's no question that Joel Embiid is the centerpiece of Philadelphia's offense. In 66 games played (regular season and playoffs), Embiid failed to contribute 4 or more assists for the 30th time. With the Nets looking to limit Embiid on the offensive end, expect him to engage his playmaking further to improve the Sixers' offense.

Cameron Johnson Threes Made Over 2.5 (+125) @ PointsBet

Nets forward Cameron Johnson thrived in his role this season, and his three-and-D contributions will be crucial for the Nets' chances on Monday. At PointsBet, Johnson is a +125 to clear 2.5 threes when he faces the Philadelphia 76ers. His promising performance against the Sixers will be needed again if Brooklyn wants to level the series.

Since joining the Brooklyn Nets, Johnson has averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.3 threes per game on 46.8% from the field and 37.2% from three-point range. In Brooklyn's Game 1 loss to Philadelphia, Johnson posted 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 threes on 63.6% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range. One of the few positive contributors for the Sixers on the night, Johnson must maintain his play for the Nets to level the series.

At 6'8 with a great shooting stroke, Johnson is one of the cornerstones of the Nets organization. His Game 1 performance was the 16th time he hit three or more threes in his 43 games this season. Given the Nets' style of play, Johnson will have just as many chances from three in Game 2.

Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings: Best Prop Bets

Trey Lyles Rebounds Under 7.5 (+105) @ DraftKings Sportsbook

Of all the Kings' successes in Game 1 against the Warriors, few expected veteran forward Trey Lyles to step up and help lead the Sacramento Kings to victory. The Canadian forward was a valuable contributor in Game 1, but he outperformed his standards, and you can't expect his production level to be maintained. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Lyles is a +105 to collect seven or fewer rebounds when he takes on the Golden State Warriors in Game 2.

On the season, Lyles is averaging 7.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 threes per game on 45.8% from the field and 36.3% from the three-point range. In his Game 1 victory over the Warriors, Lyles posted 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 threes on 75.0% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range. His performance on Sunday was just the 20th time he collected 6 or more rebounds through the 2022-23 season.

Lyles is a competent rebounder, but he doesn't have the same ability as others who play his position. In the 51 wins he participated in, Lyles averaged 3.9 rebounds per game versus 4.3 in losses. Expect him to see more time after his Game 1 performance, but his rebounding ability was an aberration.

Draymond Green Steals Over 1.5 (+140) @ DraftKings Sportsbook

To check out our expert review of DraftKings Sportsbook, click here!

Draymond Green is unquestionably one of the leaders of the Golden State Warriors on both ends of the court. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Green is a +140 to collect two or more steals when he faces the Sacramento Kings in Game 2. A rugged defender in any matchup, Green will be locked in as Golden State try to bring the season back level.

Green was locked in on both ends of the court, but his offensive output was poor. On the season, Green has averaged 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks on 52.7% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range. In the Warriors' 123-126 loss to the Kings, Green posted 4 points, 11 assists, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals on 20.0% shooting from the field.

A great competitor on both ends, as the Warriors try to level the series, expect Green's two-way production to improve further as Golden State aims to limit the King's rapid offense. In victories, Green averaged 0.9 steals per game and 1.0 in losses. In four regular-season games against the Kings, Green averaged just 0.25 steals.
