The 2025 Skills Challenge is one of the marquee events of NBA All-Star Weekend. It showcases some of the most talented players in the NBA and tests their basketball skills. In this iteration of the Skills Challenge, three teams will compete for the 2025 Skills Challenge Champion title.
The 2025 Skills Challenge is a three-round competition, and the team with the most ‘challenge points’ by the end will be named champion.
Round 1: Team Relay
Round 2: Team Passing
Round 3: Team Shooting
After moving to a team-based competition in 2022, the team representing the host state has won the Skills Challenge each year!
Team Cavs | Team Rooks | Team Spurs | Team Warriors |
---|---|---|---|
Donovan Mitchell | Zaccharie Risacher | Chris Paul | Draymond Green |
Evan Mobley | Alexandre Sarr | Victor Wembanyama | Moses Moody |
My Pick: Team Cavs to Win the 2025 Skills Challenge (+200) at BetMGM Sportsbook
The 2025 Skills Challenge looks like one of the most competitive contests of the weekend. Team Cavs stands out among the competition, with All-Stars Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley looking like the favorites to win. Anything can happen, but their versatility in skill set and athleticism give them a leg up against their opponents.

One of the marquee events of NBA All-Star Weekend, the 3-Point Contest, returns for its 39th iteration. This competition showcases some of the best three-point shooters in the NBA and pits those players head-to-head in a timed shootout!
The format of the 3-Point Contest is simple. Five racks of basketballs are situated around the three-point line, and players have 70 seconds to score as many as possible. Based on color, balls are worth one or two points, and the player who accumulates the most in the final round is named the winner!
Two-time reigning champion Damian Lillard leads the way on Saturday night, but they have plenty of competition. The winner will gain the title of 3-Point Contest Champion, joining legends like Larry Bird and Stephen Curry.
Player | Team | 3PM/3P% | Total Threes |
---|---|---|---|
Damian Lillard | Milwaukee Bucks | 3.5/.382 | 153 |
Darius Garland | Cleveland Cavaliers | 3.0/.431 | 156 |
Buddy Hield | Golden State Warriors | 2.6/.367 | 139 |
Tyler Herro | Miami Heat | 3.7/.385 | 186 |
Norman Powell | LA Clippers | 3.3/.426 | 146 |
Cam Johnson | Brooklyn Nets | 3.1/.413 | 121 |
Jalen Brunson | New York Knicks | 2.3/.397 | 122 |
Cade Cunningham | Detroit Pistons | 2.2/.351 | 111 |
The 2025 NBA 3-Point Contest features some of the NBA's top shooters this season. Cade Cunningham, Norman Powell, and Tyler Herro will try to make their mark in this year's competition. However, they'll have to overcome some high-performing veterans in the competition in reigning 3-Point Champion Damian Lillard and Buddy Hield.
Damian Lillard won his second consecutive 3-Point contest last season, scoring 26 points out of a possible 40 to defeat Karl-Anthony Towns and Trae Young. He joined an exclusive group with the victory, and aims to make even greater waves with a third straight 3-Point Contest win.
My Pick: Buddy Hield to Win 2025 3-Point Contest (+500) at BetMGM Sportsbook
No, Buddy Hield hasn’t had the most outstanding season for the Golden State Warriors after a problematic start. He’s still one of the NBA’s sharpshooters from three, though, winning the contest in 2020 and falling short by a single point in 2023. Experience is in Hield’s favor against the field, and home advantage isn’t something to look over. Keep an eye on Hield on Saturday night, as the Golden State Warriors guard has an excellent opportunity to win his second NBA 3-Point Contest on home court.

The showcase event of NBA All-Star Saturday night, the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, is back! Four players will compete for the title of 2025 Slam Dunk Contest Champion.
The Dunk Contest consists of two rounds of competition. In the opening round, all four participants perform two dunks each. Five judges score each dunk, with ratings ranging from 40 to 50 points. The two dunkers with the highest cumulative scores move on to the second round.
During the final round, these two dunkers can attempt two additional dunks. After the second round, the dunker with the highest combined score will be declared the winner.
Player | Team | Dunks |
---|---|---|
Mac McClung | Orlando Magic | 0 |
Matas Buzelis | Chicago Bulls | 32 |
Andre Jackson Jr. | Milwaukee Bucks | 17 |
Stephon Castle | San Antonio Spurs | 42 |
Mac McClung returns to the NBA Slam Dunk Contest after winning the competition in 2024. After a hard-fought final against Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, McClung stepped up with a 50-point final dunk to take home the 2024 Slam Dunk Contest Champion title. This year, he'll be required to top his last performance to join Nate Robinson as the only three-time NBA Slam Dunk Champion.
Rookies Matas Buzelis and Stephon Castle also highlight the field on Saturday night. Two athletic players with both style and grace, Buzelis and Castle, will represent their rookie class and make their first statement as one of the league's rising stars.
Rounding out the group is Andre Jackson Jr., a relatively unknown defensive specialist from the Milwaukee Bucks whose flashes of athleticism have impressed fans.
My Pick: Mac McClung to Win 2025 Slam Dunk Contest (-220) at BetMGM Sportsbook
It’s easy to forget McClung’s dunking quality going into the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, as he plays such a minor role for the Orlando Magic during the regular season. But McClung has been one of the best performers in Slam Dunk history, garnering multiple 50-point dunks and completing his attempts on the first try. McClung has stated that this will be his final Dunk Contest, so expect fireworks from one of the league’s best mid-air performers!
