NASCAR Xfinity Championship Predictions

Austin Hill Will Be a Quick Starter This Year—Because He Always Is

In a style of racing that is thoroughly unpredictable, Austin Hill defies the odds—and then some.

Brilliant in close-quarters multicar drafts, Hill will be trying to win his fourth straight NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener at Dayton International Speedway in the United Rentals 300 on February 15.

Last year, the driver of the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing followed his third straight February Daytona win at another superspeedway triumph at his home track, Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Hill won four times last year and qualified for the Championship 4, but seven of his 10 career victories have come at either Daytona or Atlanta, with the other three achieved on tracks of 1.5 miles or more in length.

The bottom line? Hill needs to improve on short tracks and road courses to vie for an Xfinity championship. That’s why we’re not backing him to win the title at (+550) via bet365 Sportsbook.

Connor Zilisch Will Be a Threat in First Full-Time Xfinity Season

JR Motorsports driver Connor Zilisch won’t turn 19 until July, but he already has an impressive racing resume.

Trained on road courses against some of the world’s best drivers, Zilisch turned heads last summer when he won his first start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series from the pole at Watkins Glen International.

In three subsequent 2024 Xfinity races, he finished fourth twice and 12th, completing 100 percent of all possible laps.

As good as Zilisch is, we think it’s a little unrealistic to think he’ll win a title in his first full-time season. Stranger things have happened, but we’d need longer odds than (+700) at bet365 to consider making that wager.

After Breakthrough Championship, Can Justin Allgaier Go Back-to-Back?

Justin Allgaier didn’t win last year’s Xfinity Series Championship 4 race, but he finished second, well ahead of the other three contenders for the title.

Allgaier’s championship ended 13 years of frustration for the 38-year-old from Riverton, Illinois. During that span, the driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet finished seventh of better each season, including runner-up results in 2020 and 2023.

Allgaier has 471 Xfinity starts to his credit, producing 25 victories and 153 top fives. He’s particularly good at Phoenix, which will host the championship race again this year, with an average finish of 9.7 and two wins in 29 starts.

Winning back-to-back championships isn’t out of the ordinary for the series. Tyler Reddick accomplished the feat in 2018 and 2019, and before that, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in 2011 and 2012.

We think Allgaier will add his name to the list in 2025 at (+350) via bet365.
