Straight Talk Wireless 400 Predictions

Tyler Reddick is Always a Threat Where Running the Fence is an Option

Tyler Reddick has nothing to prove when it comes to Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota is one of three competitors to win a NASCAR Cup Series race at the 1.5-mile intermediate track during the Next Gen era.

In addition, Reddick won back-to-back NASCAR Xfinity Series championships at Homestead in 2018 and 2019—for two different organizations.

Reddick (+400 via bet365) is the defending winner of this race, and it’s not that we don’t think he’ll be in the mix on Sunday.

We just think there’s a better choice.

Christopher Bell Looks to Rebound after Snafus in Las Vegas Race

It’s not as if Christopher Bell hasn’t enjoyed an embarrassment of riches already this year. He won the second, third and fourth races of the season.

But Bell’s No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team had an uncharacteristic lapse last Sunday at Las Vegas, where Bell had to pit in a teammate’s stall to correct a loose wheel.

As a consequence, Bell’s streak came to an end with a 12th-place finish.

We expect Bell to right the ship on Sunday at Homestead, where he won in 2023, the second season of NASCAR’s Next Gen race car.

Bell is priced attractively at +800 via bet365, but we think there’s a better choice for the win.

Kyle Larson Will Have Plenty of Seat Time before Sunday’s Race

If practice makes perfect, Kyle Larson should be close to invincible by Sunday afternoon.

The driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet is doing triple duty this weekend, running in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday night, the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday and the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday.

And it’s not as if Larson doesn’t already have a feel for the track. Throughout his career, the 2021 Cup champion has been adept at running the top of the track, inches from the outside wall.

Riding the rim, Larson won the Cup race at Homestead in 2022, the first year of the Next Gen car in NASCAR’s top division.

We think he’ll add to that total on Sunday. Though we’d like better odds than +350 via bet365, we agree with the oddsmakers on this pick.
