Don’t overlook Joey Logano when you’re deciding on bets for Chicago.
Kyle Larson goes for his second straight road course win in the No. 17 Chevy.
Shane van Gisbergen is the proper favorite on the Chicago Street Course.

Joey Logano hasn’t driven a NASCAR Xfinity Series car since 2019, but that’s one of the few negatives surrounding his 11th-hour appearance in AM Racing’s No. 15 Ford in The Loop 110 on the Chicago Street Course.
Logano has been tapped to replace struggling rookie Hailie Deegan, as AM Racing looks to evaluate the performance of its equipment in the hands of a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Logano isn’t known as a road course racer, but his stats in the Xfinity Series are impressive. He scored three victories at Watkins Glen International from 2015 through 2019 and won four consecutive poles at the track during that span.
In 13 Xfinity road course race starts, Logano has posted seven top fives. AM Racing has a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing, and we’re betting Logano has a quality ride on Saturday.
Brett Moffitt gave AM Racing its best finish of the season (fourth) on the Chicago Street Course last year, and we think Logano will do one better on Saturday. He’s a good bet for a top-three finish at (+525) via BetMGM. We also like his odds for a top five at (+240) at BetMGM.
Whenever Kyle Larson drives the No. 17 Xfinity Series Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, he’s a threat to win.
That’s particularly true on tracks with right and left turns. Earlier this season, Larson drove the No. 17 Camaro to victory on the road course at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
In the NASCAR Cup Series, Larson is tied for second-most road course wins among active drivers with five.
Though the Chicago Street Course isn’t a typical road course, we think Larson will have excellent speed on the 2.14-mile, 12-turn layout.
We just don’t think he’ll win the race and advise steering clear of the 2021 Cup champion at (+350) via BetMGM.
Bet on Kyle Larson (+350) at BetMGM
We don’t really have to say much in defense of our pick of New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen to win Saturday’s The Loop 110 on the Chicago Street Course.
Last year, SVG charged from 18th after a late caution to win his NASCAR Cup Series debut on the 12-turn layout. This year, as a full-time Xfinity Series driver, he’s running both races in the same weekend.
Van Gisbergen won the last two Xfinity Series road races, at Portland (June 1) and Sonoma (June 8), and we think he’ll add a third straight road course win in Chicago.
Grudgingly, we agree with the oddsmakers, who are offering Shane van Gisbergen to win at the stingy price of (+200) at at BetMGM.
Bet on Shane van Gisbergen (+200) at BetMGM
