Joey Logano looks to score another historic first in NASCAR racing.
No doubt Kyle Larson will bring speed to NASCAR Cup Iowa inaugural.
Experience and recent testing should favor JGR’s Christopher Bell.

If there’s a debut race, a new format or a significant new variable introduced into a NASCAR venue, you can’t ignore Joey Logano’s chances.
He won the first-ever Clash at the L.A. Coliseum in 2022, a year after taking the checkered flag in the first race on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Logano claimed victory in the 2022 inaugural event at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway outside St. Louis, and after the short track at North Wilkesboro got a fresh coat of asphalt, the driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford won the NASCAR All-Star Race there.
“It's obviously our whole team does a really good job at anticipating what a race will be like or what we're going to need in the car without any history,” Logano said.
To win the first NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway, however, Logano’s team will have to be almost prescient in their setup. Logano has never raced at the 0.875-mile short track, nor did he have a chance to test on the new pavement in the bottom two lanes.
Still, at +1200 via BetMGM, he’s a hard proposition to resist, given his history. But we prefer Logano’s former teammate, Brad Keselowski, to finish in the top three at +275 (BetMGM).
In seven NASCAR Xfinity Series starts in Corn Country, Keselowski won three times and never finished worse than eighth.

Aided by astute calls from the pit box by crew chief Cliff Daniels, Kyle Larson streaked to a convincing victory last Sunday at Sonoma Raceway.
Winning for the third time this season, Larson tied Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin for most in the NASCAR Cup Series this season.
Larson tested on the new asphalt at Iowa Speedway in late May, and he and Daniels are certain to arrive with speed in their No. 5 Chevrolet.
In two Xfinity starts at the track, both back in 2013, Larson finished fifth both times in cars fielded by the late Steve Turner.
The way we see it, though, the odds are too short on Larson at +500. We prefer a driver with even more experience at the track.

There are excellent reasons why Christopher Bell is the oddsmakers’ choice to win Sunday’s Iowa Corn 350, the NASCAR Cup Series’ inaugural race at Iowa Speedway.
First of all, in five Xfinity Series starts at the 0.875-mile short track, Bell has won twice, finished second twice, and claimed two pole positions.
He won back-to-back races in 2018 and 2019, the last year the Xfinity Series competed at Iowa.
Bell also participated in a Goodyear tire test at Iowa two days after winning the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte on May 26. He will be primed and ready for Sunday’s race.
Pay attention to qualifying on Saturday. If Bell secures a decent starting position, we think he’ll win the race on Sunday at +450 via BetMGM.
